I think at this point there's pretty much no hope for a Musebox.
This seems like a good deal:

I have no idea what "Rev C" or the year of this Receptor is?
Seems like it would do everything I'd want from a Musebox anyhow?
Thanks in advance for you input.
Standard Rec C - good deal?

My suggestion would be that you first make yourself a list of the "must have" plug-ins that you want to run on the Receptor, then try to find out through this forum and Plugorama if they will work; the Receptor does not run every VST out there. Pay attention to the version of the plug-ins you're interested in as the Receptor may be able to run only an older version, not a current one. (I own a Rev C Receptor, BTW.)
Also, if you will have large sample libraries installed then the 160GB drive might be undersized.

If you approach this from the perspective of hardware specs, you are getting a piece of technology from about 2004:
- Single core 1.79 ghz cpu
- 200 Mhz memory bus (400 mhz dual-channel)
- 100BT Ethernet
- 16 megabytes (that's megabytes) MSI video
- Envy24 audio card (the card has "2003" silk-screened on the top)
Link to motherboard specs
Specs for the AMD Turion ML-34 cpu
You will not be able to get many of your current plugins to work without some sort of hardware and software upgrade...at an additional cost.
This technology also locks you into very specific software that is only provided by Muse. You will not be able to get third party help, and this forum is just as much at their mercy.
You really would be better off buying a core i5 or i7 laptop and a VST host for that price.
