Hm, my understanding is that once you start referring to yourself in the third person is when you know you've made it. Oh, and you have to say "we" a lot when you're responding to questions, etc. As in "we decided to" such and such rather than "I decided". NEVER use the first person singular.

I noticed something on the demo version of Breeze (which I'm looking to pickup before the end of the year). I was playing with the time knob using a controller (APC-40 and Kore) and the twist increase does not appear to be equal with the time increase... ie: twist the knob a quarter turn and the time jumps up far ahead, only giving three or four options in the lower range.

Knobs have different scales to try to make the knob rotation range most usable, so that all the "good stuff" (to the extent that these is some limited range of "good stuff") is not confined to only a very small part of the knob rotation...

Shift-click-drag gives fine-tuning...

Also... I updated Aether to 1.5.1 and did not experience any improvement in CPU usage. Wondered if you had any suggestions?

(I'm on OSX, 10.6.6, the Aether experience was in Ableton Live 8.1.2... tried the same combination of audio file and preset before and after, using x2 oversampling).

There is no difference in the DSP. The only difference is that there as a bug in the GUI code previously. So when the GUI window was open it used more CPU than it should. The GUI should be basically insignificant in CPU requirements. Apparently it was not, and was using a semi-high amount of CPU usage. This was fixed.

The same issue was in Breeze, which shares the same GUI code base that we use. In breeze this was resulting in something like 30% of a single core for the GUI! It should be less than 1%. It was fixed and now is less than 1%. I don't know exactly if the issue was as sever in Aether, b/c we fixed it before I actually did any comparison test. But it did affect Aether too.

Otherwise, loving Breeze, it certainly is.

Just so you know, it's growing on me, on DRUMS.

I need to test much further of course. But if i needed a long decay for a crash cymbal it was superb. ANd to add some short ambience to some kicks worked well too...

No. Presets are not compatible.

It simply means you must update Aether with this HotFix if you want to install Breeze or the Breeze demo, or any other future product we release. We named something too generically in our code and discovered we had a name conflict to do things this way for additional products. So you need to tun the update.

It offers a few other minor enhancements too. All Aether users should run it.
