Hi there,

I try to control the portamento/glide parameter of a zebra patch with Midi Messages.
Since modwheel is often mapped to other parameters I tried to do it with the Expression Pedal/Breath CCs but it doesn't work :/
I did the following:
- Mapped Breath/Xpress to VCC-Portamento in the ModMatrix
- Draw some Midi Messages in the Piano Roll in Reaper on CC 2/11

Am I missing something?

Automation and Modwheel work fine, but they're not practical for what I want to achieve.
If there are other ways to do this in Reaper please don't hesitate posting it :)

Cheers,
Doc

I have to check it out. Portamento has always been difficult to modulate due to a chicken-and-egg problem. It belongs to the global entity that controls the voice structure, but its effect is located within the voices. Even though it's a global parameter I try to make it modulatable for each voice separately. That's very prone to bugs even on simple changes to the structure.

Hey Urs,

thanks for the quick answer.
In my case I use legato mode so it should only be one voice.

What you're describing (which sounds pretty usefull :) ) seems like a big change while my current problem is more like an issue with the xpress/breath CCs.
I didn't try it with other CCs per Midi learn yet but that will be my next step if I can get it working in Reaper.

Cheers,
Doc
