Urs,

Have you considered selling the Uhbik plugins individually?

Thank you

Oops, nevermind. Just read the FAQ. That would be a no..

I already own too many similar effects to get Uhbik..

But I was interested in checking out the Phaser. I some good ones already but yours is apparently very good.. However, I wouldn't be able to justify getting the whole bundle for it even if I love it.

Anyway, no biggie..

That's kinda like; "I've had cheese-cake"... but not until you've had REAL cheese-cake. You don't know the difference, until you taste it.

So in essence... you would be able to change your statement to:

"I used to own things that pretended to be similar to Uhbik."

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

The trem does things no other trem does. The Flanger is also a chorus. Both the Flanger and the Tremelo can do vibrato in different ways. The frequency shifter is just plain awesome. Runciter is one of my favorite distortions on top of being a filter. The delay is pure sci-fi (in that its like a future-retro kind of "what people in the 60s thought a really hi tech delay would work+sound"). The granular thing is a granular thing (I really can't say much more on it...)

I can't think of what plugs you could possibly have which would be similar to these really.

yeah - I would say it really is worth it just to get it - none of the individual effects really and truly overlap with what else I have, and often they're the best examples of what I have.

the Trem is insane for sure...definitely nothing else like it out there. The Phaser and Flanger are the shizz indeed. the reverb is great too!

you will dig it - just get it!

It doesn't even clash with the SoundToys Native bundle. Whilst i have the SoundToys bundle i do not need the Uhbik bundle but if i did need some extra options in the effects department then Uhbik would be it i think

my £0.02p FWIW and if i could afford luxary i would probably pull the trigger on it but i can not. They would actually complement each other wickedly

Also i am not comparing the two plug-in sets here just incase anyone jumps down my throat/get the wrong impression :)

The Uhbik bundle is amazing.. I have soundtoys and a few others.. it's way different and has the most creamy, silky touch to all the effects. Huge soundstage too..

I love it!

Uhbik was designed to complement SoundToys. I wouldn't dare to compete with them.

I'll also address some remaining issues in future updates: Really "lexical" presets for Uhbik-A, more "analogueish" phaser modes for P, an LFO for Runciter (dunno where to squeeze that in though), Hz-readout for Q - to name the most prominent requests.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I do have some nice cheesecakes in my arsenal (I know the real taste of cheesecake ) I'm sure Uhbik is off the hook, but I have to choose where I invest my money. I can only buy so many delays and filters.. I have all my needs pretty much covered.. I am only listing the Payware that I use below. I also use a lot of very good freeware.

For Tremolo I have been using MMultibandTremolo exclusively. I can use the tremolo on only certain frequencies, or have different types of tremolos for different frequencies. I can sync to tempo at 15 different speeds in 3 different ways. I can modulate any parameter using standard shapes, custom shapes, or even step sequencers. I am having trouble believing that there is something that the Uhbik tremolo can do that MMultiBandTremolo can't do. I don't think I need it.

For flanger I use MMultibandFlanger and Liquid Mod II. Very happy with both. Again I'm sure the Uhbik one rocks, but I can't justify getting another flanger as I have already bought 2 very good ones.

For Chorus I use Liquid Mod II, BT Analog Chorus, and MMultiBandChorus. I will also soon own Zebrify, which includes a chorus. Again, I am very happy with what I have..

For frequency shifting I use MMultiBandFreqShifter. Haven't used this in a track yet.. sounds good though.

For distortion I use BadBussMojo, CamelPhat3, and MMultiBandDistortion. I rarely use distortion in my projects..

For Retro Spacy delay I use Timeless2, BT Oilcan Echo, Liquid Delays II, and OhmBoyz. I don't want another delay. I have spent way too much money on delays already and I am very happy with the results I get out of them :)

For filter I use Volcano 2, CamelSpace, CamelPhat, Quadfrohmage, PSP Nitro, Fruity Love Philter, and MFilter.

The granular plugin could be cool :)

Phaser: I use BT Analog Phaser, Liquid Phase II and MMultiband phaser. When I own Zebrify I will also have it's very nice sounding phaser. But the one in Uhbik seems to be the one that everyone points to as being "the best", so I was hoping it could be purchased by itself. In that case, I would try out the demo :) I don't want to be tempted by it right now, knowing I'd have to buy the whole bundle to get it. I screwed myself trying out FilterScape and now I want it, even though I swore to myself I wouldn't buy another filter.. So it's now on my list.. GRRRR. But Filterscape is truely unique, intuitive, and very different from any other filter plugin that I own so I would see this as a great investment.

I'll finish by saying that I think Urs is extremely talented. If I were just starting off, I'd get all his products. I currently don't own/use any but the freeware/Magware ones, but I have playing with the Zebra2 demo for hours. Longer than any other demo I have ever tried. I don't even compose (and bounce down) or save anything. I have just been having fun discovering it. So powerful... Such a great sound. Everyone's raving about ACE all the time. I tried ACE too and although I can't deny that it is nice, Zebra is truely where it's at for me..

I have been buying VST's for many years. It's an investment. I feel that I have spent too much already on chorus, delays, flangers, filters.... I have to pick my battles :) I haven't demo'ed the Soundtoys stuff either, for the same reason. Don;t want to be tempted. Too many things to buy and not enough money. I wish I could own every great filter, flanger, chorus out there.. My quest for the perfect phaser continues, but I would have to be able to buy it by itself, not as part of a bundle. Next purchase is Zebra, then a really good reverb.. then we'll see..

Will Uhbik ever be united with Uhbik X?

Sure. I highly regret announcing it prematurely though. It's a massive amount of work that I totally underestimated, especially the tedious parts.

Urs,
Thank you for your very quick and honest reply, and on a Sunday yet. You are a rare combination of brilliance and graciousness.
