64 Bit - Uhbik, Filterscape, Zebra 2.5.2 up!

I think I found a new audio bug in the 64-bit version. Take preset:
Zebra Science -> 2 Leaders -> HS Benderphone
Hold a note and slowly move the pitchwheel up. On the 64-bit beta VSTi I get audible bell-like artifacts as the pitchwheel advances through the oscillator wavetables. The exact same patch with the 32-bit version of Zebra doesn't exhibit this.
Win 7, Reaper v3.73 (32 and 64-bit).
I've also found a really easy way to replicate it w/o any patches:
1. Load Z2 x64.
2. Swtich to the Osc1 panel below.
3. Turn the Normalize knob all the way up.
4. Press and hole a lower bass C on your keyboard, I find it easier to hear with bass notes.
5. While holding down the note, click and drag on the upper left vertex node of the sawtooth and move your mouse left and right somewhat quickly. You should hear the bell-like artifacts.
6. Turning up the resolution knob to max helps mitigate this on the 64-bit version.
I can't get the artifcats to sound with Resolution 5.00 and the 32-bit version.

Are you using the 32-bit version that came with the 64-bit one, or an older one?

Urs,
I am pretty sure I am using the 32-bit dll that came with the latest beta as it has the Warp and PhaseDist FX updates. Here are the two files:

Ok, made some audio clips:
http://www.u-he.com/PatchLib/tmp/artifa ... est_32.mp3
http://www.u-he.com/PatchLib/tmp/artifa ... est_64.mp3
The first link is the Reaper project opened in 32-bit mode, the second is the exact same project opened in 64-bit mode.
Urs, I've uploaded the reaper project and Zebra preset to the location as well, if you want to try it on your side:

I forgot to mention, I'm running this on a x86-64 AMD processor. Here's a screenshot of the details. I don't know if it should make a difference but I know I'm in the minority here running an AMD.

If I can chime in here ^^ listened to the audio samples and got the same but more of an extreme in Uhbik-G in Cubase x64 on WinUlt64. Running several other plugins everything runs around 50% vst performance, when G kiks in and the crackling starts, VST Performance jumps upto around 90%.Urs wrote:Thanks for the audio examples. Hmmm... I havn't heard that yet. Will try tomorrow!
Hope this helps a little

Thanks for the input MFXxx. The audio example I posted above uses almost no CPU. Here's a screenshot of the CPU usage while running the project realtime in the 64-bit version of Reaper:MFXxx wrote:Running several other plugins everything runs around 50% vst performance, when G kiks in and the crackling starts, VST Performance jumps upto around 90%. No worries, you're very welcome. Might be a Cubase issue as well. I'm confident URS will be on the casebmrzycki wrote:Thanks for the input MFXxx. The audio example I posted above uses almost no CPU. I think I found another bug. I'm not sure if this is in the new betas or is in the older stuff too.
I loaded preset: 2.5 Factory -> 2 Leaders -> HS Weatherman and noticed there were nasty clicks when pressing and releasing keys. After removing module after module I noticed the clicking only happened in the following case:
1. When a Filter (VCF5) is used in the FX section, set to LP Vintage2.
2. Zebra is in 2.3 compatibility mode.
The clicking disappears if I do any of the following:
1. Switch VCF5 to anything but LP Vintage2
2. Switch into 2.5 native mode
3. Use a filter (VCF1) with the same settings as VCF5 but in the voice section
I've recreated this with both the 32 and 64-bit Window betas on the same system & host as mentioned in my previous bug.
The clicks only happen on the first discrete note on and note off. If I play legato the first note clicks and all legato notes do not, and then the released note clicks again. If I play single discrete notes each one clicks on on and off.
Here's a simplified preset I made to showcase the click:

Just tested. Both the bell-like artifacts when changing waveforms and clicks with VCF5 Vintage2 are still present in the latest beta.Urs wrote:Loads of other fixes and improvements are work in progress
Good luck getting Tyrell out, I know you're a busy guy!
