Wow! That's great feedback. Thanks! Did you use the GPO serial number from the Project Bundle, or the Ultimate Bundle?

I used the serial from the Ultimate Bundle.

Ah, well I'll be trying that with the Project Bundle serial after my copy arrives today. Hopefully it will work.

Wondered if anyone had any inside information on if and when Musicians Friend will have a 10% off. I was given a gift card from there, but would rather maximize its potential with a 10% off.

Bingo! It worked like a charm! Wow. If nothing else good comes of this, my $5.00 investment saved me $100.00 on GPO! Absolutely awesome.

Thanks, Photo-G -- I love it when killer deals unfold in stages like this!

This last bit just now got me to buy in on the Amazon $10 one. You and crisis-at-music have been awesome about following up on all of this! :)

alogie -- Sorry that the red KRK thing didn't pan out for you. These things sometimes work for only a few hours or even minutes when they're really hot. I still kinda regret not jumping on that one myself...

Yeah, no big deal. Win some, lose some.
They were VERY red.... :hihi:

Thanks for finding the deal to begin with GreyLion! I've always wanted a good orchestral library and, although I'm not sure that I'll ever be able to produce anything that does it justice, ~66% off was just too good not to ask about and follow up on. To be honest though, I am really enjoying T3. It seems pretty stable on my dual core Intel laptop DAW (Win7 x64), and it really is "intuitive" (IMO), compared to Sonar 8.5 and Reaper...although I'm sure that these will still have a place on my drive. :D

:help: Interested as I am in getting this no-brainer from MF, I've not be allowed to complete the purchase 'cause I'm buying from Europe.:x

Does anyone from EU managed to overcome this delivery restriction?

FWIW -- I just now got shipping confirmation from Amazon on the Tracktion 3 Project bundle for $10. Vendor is Musicians Friend. :)

I recently ordered the Tacktion 3 Project Bundle, then I noticed this:

Dose anyone have this and can confirm that the added synths and stuff are worth it? I'm expecially wondering about the Garritan Personal Orchestra T3 edition. Does it have a lot of string articulations?

Thanks in advance,
G
I had tried Tracktion 2 and 3 a few times and could not get used to the interface. Some months ago I saw it for $50, tried it again, and passed again. When I saw it for $20 I just bought it. For that price, I thought of just having some additional plugins even if they were only usable in Tracktion.

I haven't spent much time with the plugins and libraries, but one thing that I'm enjoying is the video tutorial. Just picking up a tip or two has already saved me quite a bit of time. For example, while using multiple virtual guitar amps and effects I was having problems with CPU usage. It was very fast and easy to A/B the plugins and see their effect of the CPU. It turned out that Waves GTR3 were a bit problematic in this particular case.

I'm also reading the manual, but the video has been worth the price for me. I started with ProTools and more recently was using Logic. The more I use Tracktion the more I like it. Hopefully it will be updated eventually.

Regarding Garritan Personal Orchestra, I'm having problems in general with Kontakt and with Native Instruments' authorization system. I'm able to assign some MIDI tracks to instruments via Kontakt, like Ocean Way Drums, but other times I get no sounds at all using Kontakt. This has been the case with GPO as well as some of Native Instruments own programs. I do get sounds using other instrument plugins, such as LinPlug.

This is on a PPC MAC using OS X 10.5.8, so YMMV :)

Am I correct in that Artist doesn't support vst instruments and effects?

Yup. Artist, I think, is the one they normally bundle with their hardware interfaces. Still might be a cheaper way to get the pro version (with plug-in support) for someone who wants it. Looking at the street price, it seems to work out about $80-100 off.
