Hello, Vojtech,

I have a question regarding the spatial positioning system implemented into MMultiBandReverb 4.02: when the sound source is panned to the centre (X=0) and I'm moving it along the Y-axis back and forth, I cannot hear any difference in the output sound image. Since I'm changing the distance of the sound source, I would expect an effect similar to adjusting the room size parameter, however, nothing like that seems to happen. Why is that? :?

Anyway, I wish you many next great ideas in 2011 and thanks for the answer in advance! :)

Hi Miloslav,

well, it doesn't change the room of course. In reality the room doesn't change either when you move the sound source. But it adjusts predelay, some filters, maybe something else, don't remember correctly.

Cheers!

Yes, but the surprising thing is that as soon as I pan the sound source slightly to the left or to the right (X<0 or X>0), then the movement along the Y-axis (with a fixed X-axis position) becomes already noticeable. Only at the exact centre (X=0) the Y-axis position doesn't seem to make any effect.

However, it's December 31 so maybe I should stop thinking and start drinking... :hihi:

This Reverb is awesome...

Does not MMultiBandReverb feature upsampling ?

Post

I think it's only more noticeable when moving in the X axis, as it affects panorama and that's always noticeable. Y works too, it's just less obvious and depends on room size etc...

I think the reverb doesn't have upsampling, because it doesn't make much sense, but I'm not sure.
