Hey guys!
I'm using Ableton live 8 and Zebra 2.5

Idle Ableton sits at 1%
Running with one instance of Zebra, about 2 oscs and 1vcf and 1xmf and 2x effects - playing the track CPU steadies at 12 to 14% but then jumps to 45%/48% momentarily then back down again and just fluctuates doing this the whole time the track is playing and effects audio quality.

Note apart from Zebra the rest is just 4x audio samples playing.

I'm running a Core2Duo 2.4Ghz with 4GB RAM and Windows XP.

Any advice? I've run some massive projects before with ALOT of synths and effects running around and very high consistent CPU but never experienced this spiking before.

Actually this may be something to do with multi core/multi thread topics...

When I have Ableton open on it's own the CPU spiking happens alot.
When I open a program to record the issue in action (cam studio pro) and have this program in the background recording the screen spiking DOESN'T happen and sits at a steady 13%/14% no matter what.

Stumped...

To see if it's a multi core problem, try setting Live to run off of just one core temporarily.

FIXED!

I feel kind of stupid but I set power scheme to 'Always On' and this fixed it.
Must of been some power mngment cpu throttling issue where running TWO programs kept the CPU up more (my guess)

This is a fresh install of XP from Windows 7 so forgot to set to Always on until I found the Tweak XP guide.

Thanks anyway all.
