Would you like this change in all MeldaProduction parametric equalizers?

How about removing the band editors from equalizers completely?
Band editor = the table of all bands with their basic parameters.
I mean, you can always use right mouse button to get the detailed settings. With this band editor it may even confuse people, that the visible settings are the only one despite several are hidden. You would then have more space for the band editor as well (though you can resize the plugins).

No no, parameteric eq's, freeform eqs don't even have any band editormiro pajic wrote:you mean like in freeform analog eq?

Hmmm, I quite don't get it
. Yes it would look like freeform eqs basically, but it would still be parametric, it's just that you can always get the advanced info about each band instead of searching in the band list.

Ok, that's what I meant. Anyway...Could be cool. Would have to try and see though

Hehe yeah, I'm a little afraid of the "try and see" approachmiro pajic wrote:Ok, that's what I meant. Anyway...Could be cool. Would have to try and see though

send a beta to some testers
The workflow will be the only real proof if it's great or not IMO.

Hello, Vojtech,
basically, I don't need the band editors, however, if you want to remove them then I would need some enhancement of the behaviour of the detailed windows which pop up on the right click:
1. It should be possible to open more than one detailed window. Sometimes I need to precisely adjust two bands simultaneously.
2. The detailed windows should always show the actual values of the corresponding parameters. Now they are static: for instance, when a modulator is set to drive one of the parameters then you can see the movement of the parameter on the graph as well as on the band editor. However, if you open the detailed window for the given band, the parameters do not move there which is confusing. I don't know all your parametric equalizers but, at least, MFilter behaves this way.
Anyway, I think this is a good idea, especially for the equalizers with many bands.

Whatever you do for the new EQ, keep it simple and logical and low CPU. Think about the ones that take people by storm...
Fabfilter Q, EQuality and DDMF
Adopt the best UI features add some others that do not get in the way.

I use the band editor often in EQs to adjust gain without (accidently) adjusting a given frequency or vice versa (not so easy when you do it fast with the mouse - or I'm a bit clumsy hehe).
For the band editor to be removed there would be a mouse modifier necessary (eg Ctrl) to do the same. As long as this is there (don't know if this is the case already in Melda EQs) im fine with removing it.

Thanks folks for the info. In general I got into conclusion that it cannot be removed (e.g. there are reasons why 2 popups cannot be displayed at once). Also the fabfilter's solution (showing just one) seems clumsy to me. So it will probably stay the way it is. With some enhancements...

You are good! Telepathic! This is exactly what has been doneValle wrote:Could it be optional (like "hiding" the section)?
Or having sort of an "inspector" for the current selected band?
