Hi,

I've recently upgraded my PC and I've installed windows 7 x64 as my OS. I've got Ableton 8.1 working and every VST i've installed works fine, but for some reason I can't get Sylenth to appear/work as a plugin in Live. I've tried installing both the x86 and x64 versions of Sylenth and still had no luck, I've even tried installing the demo versions and now I'm a total loss. So if anyone could give me some help on this I'd greatly appreciate it...

Specs:

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Intel i5 760 @ 4 x 2.8ghz
4GB DDR3 RAM
Ableton 8.1

Ableton Live is a 32bit (x86) host, so it can not run 64bit (x64) plug-ins. You must install ONLY the 32bit version of Sylenth1. If you installed the 64bit version also, please uninstall it.

Hi,

Im using Windows 7 x64 with Live Suite 8.2 and Sylenth V2.2 32bit perfectly here.
Like Lennard said,Live is a 32bit host therefore you must install Sylenth 32bit.
Works a dream though..

@Lennard

Thanks for the help the other day :)

Ya I'm aware that it's a 32 host and I said in my post that i've tried both the 32bit and 64bit versions and there's still nothing. :(

I suppose I could try upgrading live? But I don't really see how that would help. Or would it?

This is a Live-related issue. Simple fix:

1. Delete your Live preferences file (found in C:\[user folder]\Roaming\Ableton
2. Take Sylenth1.dll OUT of the VSTPlugins folder
3. Launch Live
4. Exit Live
5. Put Sylenth1.dll back in the VSTPlugins folder
6. Launch Live

I will try this as soon as I get home. what would be the reason I would have to do this though?
more bass please

No problem here in Live 8.2.1 with Sylenth. Win Vista 64, UAC turned off and no Virus protection on.

I tried removing the files and running as administrator still no result.
more bass please

Have you uninstalled the 64-bit version, as Lennard (who created the plug-in) said to do? You haven't actually told whether you did that, just deleted a .dll file.

I had the same problem when installing the 64 bit version on Windows 7 64 bit with Live 8. It wouldn't show up in Live plugins. I uninstalled Sylenth 64 bit, rebooted my computer, then reinstalled 32 bit Sylenth. It showed up when I loaded Live.
