Did you contact Waldorf support already? That's mostly better than if i post issues somewhere at the beta forum.Colin Bennett wrote:What a truly awful first experience with PPG Wave v3
I'm running Live 8 on a Mac Pro with Snow Leopard 10.6.5. I keep my system in perfect shape and haven't had a single technical problem - well that was until I tried to demo PPG Wave v3.
The installer failed on every instal attempt.
Never had a single problem with any install ever but there's a first eh. Gave up after about 8 attempts and resorted to doing a force-install using a mac app called Pacifist. This worked fine.
Then installed the demo license on my eLicenser dongle. Worked fine.
Finally launched Live and inserted an instance of PPG Wave v3. Played a note and it worked fine. Went to the browse window to choose a preset and as soon as I clicked on any preset everything froze. Completely locked down with a spinning beachball of death. Had to force quit live. Tried again and again and again and gave up.
Just deleted every last trace of the install and back to a perfect working Live 8 with every plug-in working great as usual.
What a nightmare. I was soo looking forward to demo this!
Did you use v1.0 or the new v1.0.1 for the install? The new version is here:

There is nothing like a special "demo version" AFAIK, only the license is different. That's one of the benefits of the eLicenser protection. BTW installing the latest eLicenser version really helps sometimes:Colin Bennett wrote:Thanks for the clarification Willx
If Waldorf are aware of the issues they shouldn't be allowing potential customers to download buggy demos. Absolutely shocking stuff. I don't use VSTs in Live, only Audio Units. I'm certainly going to give this a miss for the foreseeable future as this kind of dodgy coding leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

BTW i got no problems with the full version at Windows 7 (PPg 3.V v1.0.1) and Ableton Live 8.2.1. Currently i'm doing my next soundbank on it and i have to admit that the sound of PPG Wave 3.v has some kind of "special magic" to it. I have imported several samples i've created and in the PPG they sound better than ever. The FX section, especially the Chorus and Reverb are awesome. Sometimes i also get drastic changes if e.g. i only change the True PPG mode from 2.3 to 2.2 mode.
