I downloaded the free AU version and installed them in the correct directory.
In FCP, only the mono version shows up under Audio Filters, and when selected does
provide a list of the controls in the filters tab of the Viewer, but I don't get the window anywhere.
I thought it might be transparent, but apparently I need the window to appear to adjust that.
If I'm spinning my wheels trying to get it to work in FCP, just let me know.
I just thought it would be handy to have a spectrum analyzer within FCP for use
on equalizing the stuff I record with my point and shoot Lumix which does a
pretty decent job between 80 and 10 kHz but using the Apple 31 band eq filter
would be a heck of a lot easier if I had visual, since I can't afford near field monitors
and/or a decent amp. OK OK, it's also my ears aren't what they used to be.
I also launched Bias Peak LE but I guess I'd have to download and install the RTAS
version for that since the AU version doesn't show at all in the filters/plug ins menu.
Can you even do that?

Thanks in advance.

Andy

:help:

FCP v. 6.06 (Final Cut Studio 2)
Peak LE 6

p.s. I also launched Garageband 3 but apparently it doesn't have effects capability.
I don't use it much.

Hi,

thank you for trying our plug-in. Final Cut actually does not support custom user interfaces for Audio Units yet, so there is unfortunately no way for the moment to use our analysis tools with it.

You can however use them with Bias Peak LE with the VST version. I don't know about GarageBand 3 (it's an old version, isn't it?), but newer versions of GarageBand now support Audio Units and our plug-ins work well with it.

Hope this helps!

Thanks. I appreciate your quick response. I'll download the VST for Peak so I can experiment with it. It also equips me to interact with Apple about it. Yeah, GB3 is old and I couldn't find any way to implement effects, so without further time spent there I assume it just doesn't support it. FCP has decent video analysis tools, so they should either develop a spectrum analyzer for audio or make it accept plugins that add it. I'm assuming Studio 3 FCP 7 doesn't support it either, but I don't have the money to upgrade even if it did.

Regards,

Andy

The latest version of FCP still does not support such plug-ins anyway...
