Hi Jo,

today is question time... :hihi:

I noticed, that the relationship I mentioned above is a little bit unusual to what I know from other programms.

For me, it would make more sense, if copy and paste shortcuts/commands would move the edit/play cursor.

If I select a part and hit CRTL+C, the cursor should move to the end of the part, that I can repeat it very easy with CRTL+V...

CRTL+V should do the same, that I can repeat a copied part easily a few times. I know, this could be done by defining a loop in the part and expanding this part, but sometimes I copy a part a few times repetitive to drag afterwards some of them to a different location...

Don't know, what the others think about this, but for me would be a great timesaver.

And what if the music is playing?

Like in Reason: nothing happens or like in EnergyXt (Ctrl+D) keeps on pasting down the time line even when playing.

I can't tell you... 8) I rarely have the need to copy/paste, while music is playing...
For me, things like inserting an EQ or a compressor without stutters while music is playing is a very nice feature of the engine, but copy and paste while music plays has a very very low priority.

Quite some time later :hihi:

Perhaps a seperation of the cursor in a play and a seperate edit cursor could help...
If playback is stopped, they could work as one, but if music is playing, the play cursor "plays the music", while the edit cursor defines time relationship for actions like copy and paste...

Don't know, if this would be possible in MuLab...just an idea...

Or...(much much better) just implement an additional "repeat" command...
My first question had only one request: To be able to quickly repeat the selected parts without having the need to define a loop in the part to repeat them by resizing ...(that's not my way of working)...I prefer repeating parts as parts, because you can easily drag them around, while and expanded part has to be cut before...

Long text, short sense...such a new command should contain at least one option: how many copies I want...
Advanced options could be:
1. repeating puts copies edge to edge...repeating puts copies at the start of the next bar...
2. copies or individual parts

Honnestly, there are no such plans to split the cursor into a play- and edit- cursor.

When pasting parts and events, they're pasted at the mouse position.
Left hand can do Ctrl+V / Cmd+V, right hand can move the mouse to desired position(s) and so multiple pastes can be made very fast, no?

You definetely should do a daily tips and tricks thread :-)

There are so many hidden gems in MuLab...
Forget about all I wrote here, this mouse pointer thingy is way cooler!!!!

Thx
