Seems that the amount in the modulation slots is different ( not bipolar), verry noticeable when choosing fm depth as modulation target
When modulating fm depth with an lfo assigned in the modulation matrix instead of modulating directly from the fm module dropdown , there is a difference .
Choose an sine lfo as source , when modulating directly from the fm module itself , the speed of the modulation is twice as fast as when modulating from the matrix .
Also , when saw wave as lfo ( modulation directly from fm module not the matrix )the saw behaves as a sine wave .

The slots in the ModMatrix always refer to the range of the parameter in a percentage.

OscTune goes from -48 to +48, which is 96 steps. A modulation of +100.00 in the ModMatrix thus results in +96 semitones.

The difference is noticable especially on bipolar targets where you have to set the modulation amount to 50.00 to reach the full extent of the actual knob.

This is however made so that even if a parameter's knob is turned fully left you can still modulate it up to fully right. And because almsot everything in Zebra has 0.01% resolution, there's usually enough resolution left to do subtle things. The only problem is that sometimes the knobs look like they're on zero when in fact they're on -0.12 or something (which might be fixed some time soon)

This is mostly how fm modulation behaves , when modulating fm depth with an lfo , from the modulation matrix ,It's half the speed as when modulating from the dropdown menu on the fm module itself .
On closer inspection when using a drawable lfo , the negative values ( from the drawable lfo shape) are not used when it's assigned via the modulation matrix , so when a sine wave is used as an lfo only the half of it is modulating the fm depth , this might explain why the speed is halved .
Why does a saw lfo behave like a sine wave when modulating fm depth directly from the fm module ?

True. Local FM modulation can be negative (interesting!), but not if you use the Matrix.
