Is there a way to record MIDI input without it being quantized?

right click note symbol button (right from record button),
set "event recording grid" to "no grid"

Thanks! My friend is using the software on MAC OS, and is having issues with recording. All the inputs are set up correctly, but when he clicks the record button, nothing happens at all. What can he do to solve this?

You're still talking about recording MIDI?

If yes, then tell him to open the HELP menu -> Help Functions -> Monitor MIDI Input Notes. This way he can already make sure that MIDI is coming into MU.LAB. Then we can continue reasoning.

Practical note: please ask your friend to join the forum here, if possible, for it may be easier to talk directly
