Not bad, but I'm not sure if Sylenth is the right choice for sounds like that. I've always the impression that I've to filter out some of Sylenth's high overtone spectrum. Due to its "aggressive" and raw sound, Sylenth is great for trance etc, but this synth can't sound really lush IMHO. This doesn't make it completely inappropriate for ambient and similar styles, but you need to layer it with other, softer sounding synths to get the right balance.

My 2 ct.

Sure it can :-)

+1

I'm with Youron. If you can't get it to sound lush and if the sounds are too raw, etc. - then you're not programming it right and not mixing it right in your songs. It can do everything that you say and is great for trance, but as Youron says, it can also do so much more.

Just my opinion, of course.
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

a 90 secs demo for 129 presets is a bit less.
... maybe set up a 3-5 mins demo.
hmm it sounds a bit thin to me here - but some nice ideas in it.
opus_diaboli is right sylenth1 is designed for trance, techno and not for soundshapes or sounds like u have here.

I agree and I like the Serendipity presets. Sylenth1 is one of the best software synths I have used. Its got great filters, built in fx and a distinct fat sound. What it should or can be used for genre wise, would be highly subjective. Its not the only tool I would use, but it is a damn good one.

It's also highly subjective if an electric guitar with a crunchy guitar amp is a suitable instrument for ambient music. So this argument is a bit pointless. I just think that Sylenth sounds a bit too harsh for this genre. There're better synths for ambient.

The argument that Sylenth1 is only good for trance is pointless too and I like crunchy guitar with lots of reverb and delay in my ambient music.

Hey, I never argue, lol.
