Is anyone currently able to use M-Audio Key Rig (the software, not the confusing similarly-named USB controller keyboard from the same company).

It doesn't seem like it would be Receptor-compatible, but its the perfect solution for a friend who is touring.

Any advice or tips would be appreciated. I'm afraid its in the same boat with the Proteus X/Emulator X line as far as the type of thing that doesn't work with the Receptor.

I have used the Keyrig software for years. You could quibble with any of the individual 4 modules and say some other package is better, and you might be right, but put them together, and consider the low cost and low cpu usage, and Keyrig is very competitive. The ability to layer sounds from up to 4 modules makes for some really neat pads. Keyrig started as cross platform (mac/windows) software, but M-audio did not introduce a universal binary (intel compatible) version of Keyrig until recently. As I understand it, the version bundled with the Keyrig 25 and 49 keyboards is labeled as Windows only. If you have a mac, you might want to email M-audio to find out about the status of the Mac version.

Put your hands up and come out slowly. He has a synthesizer, and he's not afraid to use it.
