GUI resize would be the feature I would remove if I had to... no loss to sound possibilities

I don't think anyone said that they would *want* to lose the XYs, did they?

Now now, no one is taking away features! It's just a Gedankenexperiment and we're all just having a bit of fun, so relax and enjoy. :D

Carefull what you ask for, Zebraman! ninja assassin is always watching! Urs says "Remove a feature" and ZebraMan gets it done!!

Excellent point. That's integral to the fun of Zebra. The way you can dish out proportions of a parameter to X or Y in the XY control panel is what I like. It's simple and straightforward.

having a compressor inside the synth is handy but in it's current state it's quite useless to me because even some good freeware compressors outperform it.

That's probably true, but you can't insert those external compressors into an fx chain inside Zebra. I use the compressor quite often, in between reverb and delay, for example.

Think inside (sic) the box!

You may find it useless... For me, it is a valuable sound shaping tool inside the Zebra signal chain... it cannot be replaced by an external compressor.

I've thought of a feature to dump! EQ!!! Why? cuz' I may be addicted to it. To my sounds detriment?! :hihi:

Just thought about the fact that the EQ (as I'm using it) may be bad on the listener's ears? :? May be better to use the filter in the fx section of the OSCs? Hmmm.

The compressor unit un Zebra makes a good distortion effect. (strong type with minimum attack and release).
Learned this from "Zebra Sound Design -tips, and tricks" thread. :tu:

what i realy would like to lose is the MISSING ability to save and recall arp patterns

The thing about the XY pads is in terms of performance it's hard to use all 4 at once unless you tie them together somehow - I do it using the Kore morphpad - choosing 8 "sweet spots" as snaps to morph between. I have done this with my ZebraCore remix patches (on my site). Just mousing on one XY at a time is not my idea of a particularly musical approach, I prefer to be able to change some or all at once but in different ways. So while I would not want to lose XY's what would be good would be to have an automatable 5th master XY (or XYZ) pad that can be programmed to control the other 4 in the same way as I do in Kore (with maybe the capability to take snapshots to function as vector points between morphs)

Tough question... :o

If I had to pick something, I could live without the 4 mod mixers.

Other things I rarely use...

The central section below the main grid to modulate pan and volume. It takes up a good chunk of space, and I have no problem setting those in the mod matrix if I want them.

I also don't use effects routing (send 1, send 2, return1, return2).

Best regards,

Gino

well it's all personal preference... I don't need this compressor while you seem to use it much.
conversely you don't need GUI resize while for me this is a key feature which contributes to my wellbeing in the creativity stage.

Cheers,
Doc
