I think this is mine too. I hardly use these. I actually mostly forget that they are there :(.

Well, the question was - 'If Zebra *had* to lose a feature, which would you choose?'

And I chose a feature that, *based upon my own usage*, I could live without.
+1 again.

Tough one. I use even that compressor. So my answer: One of the skins! I'd leave just unempty darkhorse! :-D And don't even dare to tell that "skin" is not a function! :-D

Haha. Just saw this topic. It's tooo muuuchhh -of everything. :D I was under that impression when first playing with Zebra. After that I only wanted to add.

But if I would take something off it would be the third mode on osc. Can't remember what it's called. Right before the harmonic one. Never used it and probably never will. :D

I actually don't know what your describing...what 3rd mode on osc?
Harmonic?

Either way, saying you never used it. How do you know you don't want to?
Logic is...I don't like vanilla icecream, because I never ate it.

As for those saying the XY pads should go.
You might not use them now, but that doesn't completely rule out their future usage.
Maybe someday you'll actually want to explore their usage more...or I don't know, automate 16x4 modulations in one (x4) shots.
Someday you might want to.
There are also many times where I programed a patch, then set all the xy pads, moved them around and saved, only to realize the xy variant sounded better than the original. Not always, but sometimes.

I would only add things, in fx.
An exciter, and a limiter.

I am not saying that XY pads should go. the question was if you HAD to choose a feature.....since it is the one I use least then I voted for that one.
It isn't going to happen anyway, thank goodness :-)

I know I'm returning to it, cuz for the life of me, I can't rap my around how anyone can consider the comb filter cluster mode, more important an item, than the xy's.

Maybe, but I got the feeling that Howard was looking for something a little more substantial than the sub-components of a feature.

If he had bits of features in mind, I might go for a couple of the VCF, or Shaper modes that I don't use much, or perhaps losing the bottom half of the grid (haven't yet seen a patch that uses more than 6 rows to good effect), or even that cluster comb.

If the idea was to select absolutely *any* feature, then I choose the "1" from "Rev1" - just calling it "Rev" would be fine by me. ;)

Post

Hmm...thinking about it I might swap XYs for the Unde/Redo buttons.

Anyway, Howard, you've had plenty of answers - it's about time you told us what you would lose...

Juat the extra FM modes. I'm much too attached to all the other features!

Fair enough.
