2010 was the best year for ISW yet, so we've lined up more libraries THIS year than ever before! Here's a roadmap of what we have in store...

* Shreddage X, an expansion pack to the original Shreddage nearly doubling it in size and adding new articulations, drop tuning and true legato

* A new percussion library consisting of tuned and untuned instruments, all never-before-sampled and very in depth (might be split into multiple releases)

* World instruments from the Kazakhstan region

* Solo soprano vocals: operatic, straight/boy soprano tone, breathy, wordbuilding, etc.

* And finally... our biggest library yet, and our first involving an ensemble... can't say more than that yet!

Curious...whatever happened to the Jillian Goldin vocal library you mentioned making, back in '08?

That's on the list - the solo soprano library :-)

It has taken awhile to get the ball rolling on that because she's been involved in a lot of projects over the last couple years (two albums, appearances on Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, etc.) We actually just got back from Japan where she was performing in a concert series.

Ah, ok... when you said "straight/boy soprano tone", I thought it was a different product.

Ah OK - that's just referring to a style of singing. Straight tone = no vibrato, very similar to the sound of boy sopranos.

Great roster of libraries there. Particularly looking forward to the Kazakhstan instruments.

Good work!

Does ISW have any plans to expand into DSP and synthesis plug-ins?

I'm very interested in that, yes. Believe it or not, I had the idea for a 32/64 bitbridge before jBridge was around and before most hosts started implementing them. Check it out:

Of course, nobody took me up on the offer, and several questioned what the point would be. Fast forward to today, we now have jBridge and Vienna Ensemble Pro being used by tons of composers/producers. Not to mention REAPER, FL Studio, Cubase etc. all implementing similar bridges. Lesson learned - don't post ideas in public :P

But anyway yes, definitely interested in DSP!

Zircon, any update on the Kazakhstan instruments and the solo soprano?

Post

The Kazakh library is coming along. All the recordings are done and I just took inventory of all the articulations we did for the Dombrya, a plucked/strummed instrument.

Solo sop. library is planned out but we haven't started on that yet... sorry :(

Actually, the ensemble project is recorded and in editing too, but I still don't want to reveal anything more about that. Maybe in a YouTube video :P

I'm busy playing with shreddage, but I'm all excited to hear your new projects already :)

Think you could shove Jimmy into the studio for Acoustic Revolutions Volume 2?

Volume 1 has been a treasure trove for me!

Yep, he's on it!

Any chance you could create a non-metal rhythm guitar package that uses SFZ?
