Notices something bizarre in bazille , not sure if it is intentional but here it is
.
SEt fractal resonance to tri mode , but the amount/mod amount to zero .
Now for the pd ( phase distorion mode ) choose saw (or any other ) , now if we turn the wave dial ( pd ) to it's fullest position we don't get the full saw wave .
This only happens when triangle is selected for the fractal resonance , when we choose another fractal reso mode ( keep in mind that the parameters must be set to zero )we get the full saw wave in pd mode .
I think it's abug , cause regardles the mode 'fractal resonance 'is to , it should have no effect on the actual waveform because the values are set to zero.

Just one question: When can I expect to buy Bazille- or get a version which runs forever?
Will Bazille be only bundled, or also stand-alone (vst)?
Thanks. This is the synth I was looking for to buy. It fullfills all my requirements (straight-forward use, freedom and versatility)!
I have one request/idea: When we create a cable, make all possible inputs highlight themself in different colors- each color represents a output function OOO. (i.e. signal modulation, math-functions, addition/subtraction. Those are just some ideas, I'm sure someone else can name them better)
This would increase work flow oh, so much better! It would help unexperienced users to be 400% as successful!
Please, please, please make this!

Urs, I have a major request, it's not for Bazille per se but I would like it if you seriously concidered it for a future project.
I'd love to see more software synths inspired by the Buchla modular. Oscillators inspired by the Complex or Twisted Waveform Generators, Low Pass Gates, Source of Uncertainty etc.
The only softsynth that really does anything remotely Buchla-esque today (that I know of) is Aalto by madronalabs but I think that if anyone could do more Buchla stuff in software it would be you. Give it some serious thought! :)
What could be perhaps an addition to Bazille and that is slightly Buchla inspired is a triple wave folder. This is like a distortions of sorts and you could use it to distort an oscillator acting as modulator and then modulate in linear FM on an oscilator acting as carrier. Think about it as well! :)

Actually eXode, the oscillators in Bazille are already quite similar to the 261e. The waveshaping can be done via the drive stage of the filter, the rectifiers and the phase modulation input results in something like linear FM.
Wave folders are typically based on rectifiers (the Serge wave multipliers are more complex) and this can easily be achieved in Bazille. Check out my wreck-da-fied patch as an example. It is based heavily on my experience with a 261e.
The 259e and LPG are a little more difficult. The 259e is a wavetable oscillator with FM capability (actually two oscillators one acts as the primary osc the other is the modulator). Zebra oscillators cover some of the same territory (between the wave tables and osc FX) but they aren't nearly as gritty and of course, you can't FM them. As far as Low Pass Gates go, I can get close to the behavior in Bazille with some fancy feedback routing between a mixer and a filter with a lag generator on the mod inputs but it doesn't have the dynamic response as a real LPG.
Then you have The Source of Uncertainty, Wogglebug, Noisering, Smooth/Stepped Generators. You can emulate some of this stuff with S&H and lag generators but their is something very different about how those devices work. I built something like a Wogglebug in Reaktor which was a fun noise toy but it still wasn't as musical as what I was emulating. I'd love to see more attention paid to complex random generators like that something that had some kind of controlled periodicity like the Noisering.
The 250e Arbitrary function Generator is also a very interesting device. It is much more than just a sequencer.
I don't own a 200e (yet) but I've been lucky enough to spend a lot of time with one. I do have a number of modules in my Eurorack system inspired by those modules (Toppobrillo Triple Wave Folder, Hertz Donut, Piston Honda, QMMG, Maths, Wogglebug, Noise Ring), and I find it's a fun challenge to emulate the sounds these modules generate with the likes of Bazille, Zebra and ACE.

Has a mac VST beta for this ever been put out? Will it in the beta phase? or alpha or whatever it is currently?

A strange bug has started popping up. I've saved some patches with the oscillators tuned to frequency, but for some reason it jumps back to semitones after playing and stopping once, seems to be pretty consistent and its causing me great distress as i cant use most of my drum patches now. I'm using ableton live (32 bit, ver 8.13) on win7 64 bit and i7.

ctrls, that's *certainly* an accidental MIDI learn. Just right-click and "MIDI Unlearn" the control and you'll be all set.

Yes, but VST is the key part of my question.ctrls wrote: @echoes: there's a mac version for download in the first post.

Echoes, just rename it to Bazille.vst. Then edit the info.plist in the package to turn the Bundle Identifier to com.uhe....vst instead of com.u.he....au

Really? So easy to turn it into a VST? So the AU contains the VST as well? I didn't think it worked like that usually.Urs wrote:Echoes, just rename it to Bazille.vst. Then edit the info.plist in the package to turn the Bundle Identifier to com.uhe....vst instead of com.u.he....au

I really think it depends on the way the plugin is coded. Not all AU can be turned to .vst of course.
Sometimes it's the AU that's wrapped from the .vst (poly KB comes to mind for example).

Actually when I unzipped the file, there was both a vst and an AU in it. So I didn't have to do anything. However, it was cut off and looks like this:

Strange, it's been out for a while hasn't it? It's funny seems to be a common thing. I remeber when Zebra 2.5 was cut off for the longest time down the side. Also all betas so far of Tyrell are also cut off and you only get about 3/4 of the gui. Urs you need a sticky note to keep those extra pixels for the VSTs versions!
Kidding around, I have no idea how this stuff works. Or was that renaming stuff to get around this gui issue? It would be nice to be able to use Osc 4, the sequencer and all those bottom functions like lfo's.
