Receptor On Airlines

OK - So I need to travel with my receptor by plane. I have a rev-c in a 4u shock absorbing Gator flight case. I'm terrified of checking what is really a desktop computer as baggage. Has anyone tried it?

Plenty of musicians check their gear into cargo to get it from a venue in one state to a venue in another one. I'd recommend checking with the airline to see if they offer any type of insurance. I can't imagine that a band who frequently travels by plane has to take the huge risk of having tens of thousands of dollars worth of gear lost, destroyed or stolen.

Also, check with you insurance agent to see if you can get an addendum added to a temporary travel policy. It probably won't cost you much money and will add to your peace of mind.

Good luck!

I put 2 Receptor 2 PROs into an SKB studio flyer 4U to get to a trade show in New York once. We checked that one as baggage (it's too big for airplane's overhead bin) and everything was still working fine when we showed up in New York. Only problem was the $150 in baggage fees United decided to charge us for the heavy case!

if possible (budget) book a seat for your receptor ;)
check with your airline.

if it doesn't have to stay in the 4u case use a 2u as hand luggage and you can work on the plane. Sure you've thought of that but just checking.

I fly with mine all the time. I put it in a pelican case with with plenty of foam padding, and I've never had an issue with it.
