can this be done in ACE? trying to figure out how, doesnt seem to be able to assign the transpose to anything?

Use the "mapper" output at the bottom of ACE's main window. Connect to e.g. VCO1's frequency modulation input, set the modulation mode to "50 semi", the modulation depth to e.g. 24 semitones. In the tweak page, set the mapper to 5 steps, mode = map quantise, source = ModWhl. Set the left value to minimum and the right value to maximum, straighten... Bob's your uncle.
