This month's u-he contest is all about Bazille...

Image

As usual the prize for this contest is pretty damn good - a free choice of U-He software!

How to enter

Simply create one or two patches using Bazille.

Send them (.h2p format) to bmrzycki, either by PM through this forum, or by email to: brzycki [at] gmail [dot] com

If you haven't already got Bazille you can download it for free (for now) here:

http://www.u-he.com/BazilleWin64.zip (also 32 bit)
http://www.u-he.com/BazilleMacAU64.zip (also 32 bit)

Rulez and other important stuff:

(please read carefully including any small print)

Deadline for Submissions - 10 am (UTC-6) Monday March 28th

A maximum of two patches per person.

The winning patch will decided by a vote (and everyone who submits a patch is expected to vote!).

Please try to ensure that your patch does not exhibit significant - ideally no - audio clipping.

Upon accepting the prize, the winner of this contest agrees to participate in the following month's contest.

---

NB: This competition is completely freestyle! There are no rules regarding the types of patches that may be submitted. The discussion about a contest theme in the thread below is with regard to next month's contest.

And if anyone has any suggestions for next month's, or future contest feel free to speak your mind in the thread....

PWM in Bazille? Bazille doesn't have a variable width pulse waveform, but PWM can be 'faked' by mixing a saw with an inverted saw: Fake PWM patch. See SOS' Synth Secrets - PWM From Combined Waveforms for a bit of background theory.

Bazille's sequencer can .

Bazille's patch cords can be automated.

The info from the other thread here about how Bazille's cords can be automated is probably worth mentioning.

That's one that's passed me by. Do you know which page of the thread it's on?

I forgot it was in the Instruments forum, not the u-he one. Here's the link:

Just less than three weeks to go. Is there going to be much interest in this one?

For those in need of some persuasion:

1. Bazille is currently freeware (the alpha is something like an extended demo), so entering is completely free.

2. Making a patch in Bazille is really easy - patch some chords, twiddle some knobs and bob's you're uncle.

3. The prize - a free choice of one piece of u-he software - is pretty good!

I will enter the contest if everything goes according to plan. Thanks for the tutorials.

In a separate thread someone suggested modelling a piano might be an interesting challenge for the next contest.

I think it's a great idea, but it would certainly be quite a challenge, so I'd like to gauge how levels of interest before making the decision.

Who's up for it?

Post

I'll probably jump in this one, I just only now noticed the contest.
I'd also be up for modeling a piano

It's worth mentioning that the synth is a fully-functional alpha meaning everyone on KVR can download it and make a preset if they want! Well worth it for the chance to win Zebra/ACE/Filterscape/UHBIK!

Good luck to everyone, I'm hoping for a good turnout. :)

I know I've said this before... :hihi: but I think I'll participate in this one. I put together a bunch of fun self-playing patches last night.

What is the theme of this contest? Is it a free for all or are we going for a specific type of sound?

It's a free-for-all Justin. And considering your time spent with Bazille I'm sure you have a few tricks up your sleeve to surprise us all. ;)
