Hello,
Will Receptor just "load & play" standard GM-1 Midi Files ?
and/or load patches & play them from an external sequencer ?
if so...from which version -> forward is it able to do this ?
AND:
can it process incoming midi data from 5-pin din without choking ?
- we need a "No USB Midi Required" solution.
if not...what's the Best Quality Sounding Multi-Timbral Midi Module out there ?
Thanks for any help!
Receptor + Standard General Midi files...

Hello Robot Slayer,
No - Receptor does not contain any kind of Sequencer or Midi -File player. It is strictly a VST Host.
It might be an interesting addition to the Muse OS for a Midi-file Player in the future, however ....
BTW, individual plugins that are deployed on Receptor (eg. Spectrasonics Stylus RMX, FXpansions BFD) might contain some local form of MIDI playback from within the plugin.
Regards,
Kevin L

Also, it certainly does process MIDI data received on the regular MIDI input port. As far as choking goes, I don't ever recall anyone mentioning the Receptor choking on MIDI data, if that's what you meant. VST instruments and effects can be another matter, of course, as on any "computer"; some VSTs are resource hogs and can overtax the CPU.
