I do take it the PC version will be VST3 as well?Urs wrote:64bit VST on Mac is done as well, which we have now decided to be VST3
WOHOO! You are gold, mate!

Aha...so Hans Zimmer requested VST3 and possible Note expression. I've seen latest Cubase is handling VST3 plugins(and their parameter mappings) much better then any other version of Cubase..Urs wrote:VST3 on both Mac and PC.
Mind you, we have only tentatively started yet. A certain customer has strongly suggested VST3 for PC though, so there's a bit of leverage behind that idea (I wouldn't like the next Chris Nolan movie to suffer from lack of Zebra)

Thats my point SB create and promote the functions yet don't actually implement it only for VST effects not VST3 instrument, so I believe. Which is why I am querying the issue. Just a niggle as had an Virus TI for a while and would love to utilise the VSTi i/o (which is nothing to do with Zebra but I trust reader can see what I am driving at).Routing Possibilities
Plug-ins can be connected to the host environment in many different ways: Future VST3 Instruments can have audio inputs. As an example, a synthesizer that offers a built-in vocoder will be able to directly receive an audio signal to control the effect. A VST3 plug-in may have multiple MIDI inputs at the same time.
First, I must agree with the heavyweights on VST3 for PC!Urs wrote:Mind you, we have only tentatively started yet. A certain customer has strongly suggested VST3 for PC though, so there's a bit of leverage behind that idea (I wouldn't like the next Chris Nolan movie to suffer from lack of Zebra)
It was pretty straight forward on Windows, I just had to go through the code and fix some ambiguous sections. It was almost a rewrite on Mac, for large parts of the gui stuff (Carbon had to be replaced by Cocoa).Nielzie wrote:Did you have to rewrite a lot of code/components for 64 bit versions of your plugins or is it a pretty straight-forward conversion from 32 bit?
