I'm not very good at doing patches from scratch but i'll try and see if i come up with something interesting. Already scrapped one preset today but now that i think about it,that wasn't such a good idea. Well you live and learn.

OOOohh Ggggoodyy, another contest I can loose :( :(  :hihi: :hihi:
Yeah, I'll try any way :D

^ It's not the losing, it's the taking part that counts. ;)

Here are some patch sketches I came up with while working on my contest entry. I can lose a whole afternoon with this synth. :)

Most of these patches use aftertouch, and modwheel.

Oh yeah, me just being a schmuck :hihi:

I just re-installed Bazille and was playing around with it. It seems like the little register nag is gone. That makes playing around with this synth quite a bit more fun. I hope I can make the time to take part in this contest.

Just over two weeks to go...

Any comments on the "Piano" suggestion for the next ZPC?

Yes,
reverb unit could help to simulate the body resonance and and rest of the effects should be used to fix and polish the sound rather that relying much on them for the character of the patch.

Have to admit that I've tryed to create a piano patch using Zebra but failed... so this will be quite a challenge! :)

Yes
Okay 3ee. :)

Any more? After the low turnout for the Zebrify contest I'm wary of going ahead with a contest that's potentially quite difficult without a reasonable number of people saying that they're up for it.

How about broadening it to include electric pianos?

Yeah, that would be very nice! :)

Yep, that'd be okay by me. :)

Anyone else got any thoughts on this? Interesting/boring? Any alternative suggestions?

It's too caged and safe (and difficult for someone "just taking part" to even bother). Turnout will be low, I'd predict.

Okay - just for the sake of clarity:

"caged" as in too specific?

"safe" as in...?

Have you any alternative suggestions (or perhaps an example of a theme that wouldn't be too caged and safe)?

BTW: That's not meant to sound sarchy - I'm just trying to understand exactly what you're saying.

And I suspect you may be right about the turnout - I really like the idea of a Piano themed contest, but experience shows that what I like isn't always to everyone else's taste. ;)

Yeah.. I know this, as I searched all over for Zebra clips :D + I heard a couple of other pretty good piano emulations so I know it can be done!

Hey how about this:
Someone makes a basic, raw and simple piano patch ... and our job is to finish the patch... that way, we'll probably end up with a couple of very good piano emulations.
