So, how shall we choose the next synth? I had a thought, that since we vote on the OSC from the 1st to 15th, maybe we could vote on the next synth from the 16th to the 25th. (that would give us a few days to start on the next comp)

Post

Yes, was thinking along the same lines. Maybe choose from a list of 5 or so?

Post

That sounds like a good idea

FreeAlpha definitely would be good

Or any one of the Elektrostudio synths (although I think they might be PC only)

Yes, really about time with one of the ElektroStudio synths.

But U-he has just promised to work full speed on Tyrell next week so might be an alternative as it's already solid as it is and sounds pretty good.

So how about a vote for OSC 27 synth with these 5 alternatives:

Sixth Month June (Elektrostudio)

Free Alpha (Linplug)

Tyrell (U-he)

MinimogueVA (Voltkitchen)

Voyager (Arguru)

Votes:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
5 - Free Alpha
4 - MiniMogueVA (nice filter)
3 - Tyrell
2 - Sixth Month June (Havn't tried juno out before, could be fun)
1 - Voyager (intriguing)

V'ger, it looks like the picture you used of Voyager is from a different software? I was using this as a reference: http://static.kvraudio.com/i/s/voyager.jpg

Yea I used one of Limeflavour's skins for it: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=256766 The original is a bit more daunting.. :)

Nice! Looks much much better.

Free Alpha is one of the most under rated freeware ever.
Like being a freeware made by payware maker was a shame ;)

It still sound very impressive, even more than synth1 to my hears.
And the modulation matrix rules.

I recently made some dub step bass wobbles with it : LFO cut off for high freqs and LFO volume for the lowest oscillator...with opposite phase and mod wheel speed ;)

But Tyrell is a very good candidate too.
I find it intuitive, even with the powerful features.

I still think Free Alpha deserve to be chosen, being an under rated freeware since 2002 against the almighty synth1 ;)

And even 2000, if we consider GakStoar Alpha ;)

It's good, and the added advantage for the OSC in that it's (as about the only one) cross platform Mac/PC.

Post

5 - Free Alpha (some love to the Macsters)
4 - Minimogue
3 - June
2 - Voyager
1 - Tyrell

Post

Yea, I'll go with that too and Tyrell can well get an update before it's on, so:

5 - Free Alpha (some love to the Macsters)
4 - June
3 - Voyager
2 - Minimogue
1 - Tyrell

There's also U-he's Bazille which I missed was a free for all, so expect that on next vote.

Post

Friends, I had a change of heart on the votes. That's ok right?

Post

'course, can be changed until the deadline.
