Consequence midi drag and drop in Reaper

Hi,

I'm not sure how I can export the midi data to a track in Reaper with drag and drop. When I drag and drop it to a track a 1 bar short midi item is created with no midi date in it (and labeled "offline").

Doesn't matter if I set the midi channels of all instruments on the same channel (singletrack) or not (multitrack). Also doesn't matter if I increase or decrease the number of bars to be exported. Still a 1 bar short empty midi item.

The same happens if I drag and drop to a midi file on my desktop and than import (drag) it in Reaper.

I'm using the latest version 1.5.1

Anyone has got this working in Reaper? Please tell how to do it, I sure could need some help here.

Hello Nielzie,

I have bought consequence but I'm migrating to another pc right now and I haven't installed consequence at this moment, so I can't test things but I'll try to help you.

1. Open a track and add an empty midifile in it. Make it as long as you want your final sequence.
2. Add consequence on that track and make a sequence you want to save.
3. Rightclick on the empty midifile and select 'Apply Track FX to items as new take (MIDI output)'.
4. Now you will have two midifiles above each other. Select the empty one (be sure it's highlighted), rightclick, go to 'take' and select 'delete active take' in the submenu.
5. Tadaaaa, if everything went right, you now have the consequence-sequence as a midifile.

Let me know if it works.

P.S.: If you really wanna have the drag and drop option, you should buy Sugar Bytes Thesys. It can save midifiles up to 64 beats by dragging.

Thanks a lot, that works quite well

But I'm still surprised that the midi drag&drop doesn't work directly somehow by dropping it in the sequencer. According to the manual it should work like that. And other plugins with this feature (like MicroTonic for instance) also work that way. Great feature, I love that

Only with Thesys and it works.

Since consequence has this option too, I'm even doubting if I have the latest version... I will check when I'm ready to reinstall it again.

I must admit that I use Thesys more.

I'd be very interested to know about your experiences with the drag&drop in Reaper once you've had installed and tried Consequence 1.5.1. Please keep me informed, thanks!

I opened several presets and dragged them into reaper and it works for me. I can make midifiles up to 64 bars.

Thanks for the video. It seems to work very well there. Just the way I want it! But.. unfortunately I can't get it to work like that if I do similar steps and drag&drop to track.

Sorry for the bad quality of video, but it should be clear enough for someone that has the plugin and knows the interface

The only difference that I noticed is that you seem to use Reaper 32 bit and I'm using Reaper x64 (and x64 version of Consequence).
