Patches no longer working after Receptor upgrade

I recently had my Receptor upgraded from Rev B to 2+ Pro, and have been working through all my old plugins/patches getting everything back up and running.

I have found that for several plugins (notably Minimonsta and VB3), even though my old .fxp files install correctly, when I select them those plugins don't change sound. Selecting factory .fxp patches works fine however.

One thing I notice is that in both cases the factory .fxp files are a different size to my .fxp files from before the upgrade.

Can anyone explain what's happening? Could it be that my plugins now are newer versions, and no longer compatible with the .fxp files I have from before?

Hoping someone can help!!

Hi Neil,

Yes - simply updating your hardware shouldn't change the versions of SW plugins you have.

If you re-installed the plugins after the upgrade, it is quite likely that the version changed. And if so, then it is possible that the associated (internal) patch data is different.

Usually, most plugs at least some compatibility with older versions (ie. you may find that you can read an old MiniMonster patch/fxp from the new version, and then save this as a new receptorized patch.
Anyway - in those cases where the plugin changed, You should re-load the factory .fxps, and resave as receptorized patches.

Hope this helps,
Kevin L

Thanks Kevin....yes, it looks like my older fxp files aren't compatible with the newer plugin versions that were installed when I got my Receptor back from being upgraded, and unfortunately I don't have the original "native" patches saved anywhere. So I guess I'll need to recreate these patches....fortunately there aren't too many and they're not too complex, so not the end of the world!
