Receptor bank numbers

Is it possible to change the bank numbers assigned to newly added or created banks in the Receptor?

I've recently had my Receptor upgraded to a 2+ Pro, and when reinstalling all my patch and multi banks, they're all being assigned different MSB/LSB values, which means I'm having to go through hundreds of settings in my master keyboard, changing bank numbers. Is there any way to trick the Receptor into submission?

As a corollary to this, I'm considering getting a second Receptor to use as a backup for live use, but in order to work properly as a backup it's going to need exactly the same bank numbers as the first. I guess I could achieve this by cloning the drive, but having to remove and clone the whole drive between gigs if I've added any banks seems like overkill. It would be great if I could modify bank numbers (or re-install them in some way with the desired bank numbers) in order to keep the two Receptors' MSB/LSB values in sync.

Any ideas?

Hi Neil,

Maybe this will help - you can 'swap' banks manually from a PC/Mac with your Receptor Drive mounted.

Say for example, you are in your "Banks and Patches' folder, looking at all of the preset banks for 'impOscar'. Lets say you have bank folders named:

39-2-factory
39-3-classics
40-1-myPatches

From your PC, you can rename these folders to:

40-1-factory
39-3-classics
39-2-myPatches

(typically after doing this, you need to refresh the plugin cache).

This will re-order the banks as they appear on the receptor, and re-assign new MSB/LSB values.

This isn't necessarily the same as arbitrarily assigning new bank/patch numbers to existing banks, but chances are you'll be able to get the numbers to work for your setup.

Hope this helps,
Kevin L

Aha!! Thank-you Kevin, I think that should work fine as a workaround!! That's super-useful!!

Actually, I meant 'Preset Cache', not 'Plugin Cache'. You can find the 'How to' in a Knowledge Base article on plugorama.com if you don't already know.
