I applied to do a bank for Nexus2 about 2 weeks ago, answer = sorry we are full until 2012

Contact Manuel Schleis Himself ant tell him that you want to do a Urban Related Expansion for Nexus 2 (they are actually looking for somebody for that)
I am pretty sure he will go for this because they are actually Looking for somebody To make such an Expansion

I never use any compression/Limiters on my own soundsets, if levels are right etc first time round then there's no need to do that and also it's not good when the customer would maybe come back and say i can't find that particular sound They won't find it coz someone compressed the shit out of the original.. naughty naughty

That's right - They consistently over produce their demos until they no longer fairly represent what is actually in the preset bank.

Compression, other fx, and Drums. Also much use of midi tricks, modulations, and VST automations, etc. The demo demonstrates more their production talent than the actual presets.

If this one is anything like their other soundsets, I suspect you'd be hard pressed to get the sounds in the presets to match the demo straight out of the box without a sizeable amount of effort.

The same could be said about some other sample and loop companies.

As long as you can get the sample or loop to sit in the mix with the other sounds/tracks/synths.

One overly compressed/ eqed track ( drums ) can sound overpowering to ones ears until the rest of the tracks sit in the mix and have there turn at tweaking.

I think the afforementioned company tries to get their sounds as club ready as possible by putting it through the finest preamps, compressors and gain structure that money can buy and sometimes that can not be a bad thing either.

Nice sounds, but too expensive. I've been spoiled by the excellent sound designers here on KVR who sell very affordable banks.
