Hello,
I have a question and I'm looking for an honest answer;
Mdrummer (large) is on sale this month, right?
Would you advice me to buy it when you know I'm only interested in electronic music? In other words, are the library and the options 'sufficient' for only electronic drums?
I'm attracted by the fact that there are a lot of vids on the meldasite, it's almost like you get a complete videotutorial for free and I think that a rhythm generator would be great for my music.
Any comment is appreciated.
Greetz,

Hi,
Personnally i don't use elctronic kits but Mdrummer have built-in synth and new electronics kit with samples and you can mix them too.
Mdrummer is very powerfull for to générate/compose grooves.
The dynamic of the kits is really strongh it remember me lm4.
u can import you're own samples and he contain a lot of quality effect.
It's easy to use.
So yes it's really good for electronic but maybe u don't need all of this wonderfull features after all.
So be more precise :
what kind of electronica music do you want compose make live can u explain more what you want to do?
because Mdrummer can make almost all it's possible in term of drumming but maybe Poise 'll be sufficient for you.

Hello Simon,
Thanks for your time to reply. I already have Poise and I really like it. It's very easy and fast to use.
Well, my musical style is something between techno and trance, you can hear some of my music through the link in my signature. Sometimes I have the feeling that my music is too static, so Mdrummer can maybe bring some movement to the drumpatterns.
Having said that, Poise is great and I won't abandon it just like that, I see Mdrummer as an addition to Poise (or the other way around).
I program all my songs in Orion and Reaper, my intentions aren't directed to live playing.

Hi,
well, when I look back to MDrummer 3, I wouldn't be very confident about its electronic library, but now with MDrummer 4 I think you'd really like it. It now has lots of drumsets and rhythms for these styles, which I believe are great. With MDrummer the thing is it has like 100x more features, but is also more complex obviously. I think the GUI is now quite clear and lets you focus on simple things just on the main screen, but still it will not be that simple as Poise probably. On the other hand, when you switch it to "drum pads" mode on the main screen, you quite similar interface. But you still have the marvelous things like drumset and rhythm generators...

I'm not searching for a replacement of Poise, I'm happy with Poise as it is!MeldaProduction wrote: It now has lots of drumsets and rhythms for these styles, which I believe are great. But if I want something for more 'complicated rhythms' I could go with Mdrummer right? I think Poise and Mdrummer are 2 different beasts and there is enough room for both of them...
I'm prepared to dive into some more complicated stuff, that's why I don't want to ditch Poise at all. Poise will stay my goto for quick rhythm creation.
The big advantage for Mdrummer is it's 64 bit compatibility.
Until when is the 25% discount?

Hi,sorry for the delay...
Well i have listen you're tracks.
I think it's very good but i see what you mean for the drum part.
You need to think like a drummer but in this kind of music drum roll who are missing in you're tunes must be on the snare and sometimes on the Bass drum for break.
It's simple think like a drummer when you compose; if you aren't just grab some midi file played live by some real drummer and play them by poise or whatever u 'll understood grab some drum roll and assign midi notes on the snare.
You can simply stop more often you're beat too
The sound part for the synth is very well negocied (just the hi hat too high in level perhaps )but maybe more variations in melodies because it can be fast boring with the trance stuff...
So i know some tool for composing drums:
http://www.soundtrek.com/drummer/
http://www.polyrythmic.org/fr/archibald.php/
Band in a box.
And MDRummer
Mdrummer can do the job easyly and fast regarding other soft (Band in a box too but m drummer can be usefull for the sounds it provide the effect on them and the generate thing is more easy to use.)
U can try all of the demo for this softwares.
But anyway if u have mdrummer i think u 'll not have need poise anymore.
For illustration purpose i propose this tracks listen the breaks and the drum rolls!

You can drive Poise with MDrummer's rhythm engine, and the included drumsynths and samples are excellent. Limitless possibilities - you just need to dive-in!
