Bits about Urs / Zebra2 / Howie are in parts 2 and 3.
Note: Only the introductory remarks are in German,
the interview itself is in English.

Urs / Zebra2 / me mentioned in parts 2 and 3.
Parts 4 and 5 aren't available yet.
This was fascinating. Thanks for the link. I'm looking forward to the final two parts.
For other potential viewers, don't be put off by the web site being German and the introduction to the interview likewise. The interviewer and Mr. Zimmer converse entirely in English.
This would have been worth watching if only for Mr. Zimmer's observation that "This Is Spinal Tap" was the most accurate documentary on the rock music business ever made.

Delightful conversation (rather than your usual fan boy interview).
Love what he says about the importance of design (as a total system) in synths - makes all the difference, as we all know too well. (Just proves that bit of design training in the former DDR can go a long way.)
Some great points about collaboration and I like his honesty. Yes ... choosing a tempo - not that easy these days getting away from that grid.
His comment about how a simple and elegant approach to programming can create the right sound for the job is spot on. Kudos to you, Howard.

This interview has been done in his studio? I thought that his studio looks like a bit like a whorehouse. I mean, I actually know that it looks like that since I saw some more interviews with him in his studio.

I really like what he said about having to sit on his hands to stop himself from writing with muscle memory...
