Gui is so nice, i wish Largo has the same contrast. Btw, will be largo updated? I really looking forward to modulation in audio rate. C'mon Waldorf, add this feature. :hail:

I STILL can't get any of their PPG Wave 3.V demos to install without failing on my Mac.

I'd love to demo the thing but it's the ONLY audio installer that has ever failed on me. I've tried 1.00, 1.01 and 1.02. Still no luck. Going to drop Waldorf an e-mail about this tomorrow as it's kind of ridiculous it's not been fixed in two point releases.

If they can't assemble installers to install properly in Macs it really makes me wonder how they can develop proper stable software instruments
That's odd. What mac you got? I had no trouble installing the PPG demo on my MacPro. I think that was version one, but I also ran the updater to 1.0.2 later without a hitch.

Yes, Happy easter! I would be even happier if they would fix the Mac version of Largo :x I've not seen this vocoder yet actually but someone did raise an interesting point about the Powercore version and upgrading / cross grading. I also bought the Powercore version but it's been out of action for a long time now (more Waldorf woes for me ). I am annoyed about Largo because they keep releasing new software and their flagship soft synth has been neglected. Very disappointing having spent the cash on it, I don't think I'm being unreasonable. I appreciate you test the Windows plugins, but I have plenty of time to beta test Mac beta versions! If only they would send me one (I can only presume one does not exist). I also need the upgrade for the Waldorf Edition, guess I need to contact support then as I have the CD auth version. Is there any mention of this on the Waldorf website though? I couldn't see anything. I wish Waldorf would take their customers a bit more seriously and offer a bit more support. Sure, they get back to me, but never a solution and just an 'it's being worked on'. I lose all faith of the truth in this when new software is announced and judging by previous communications it seems clear there is only one person working on all this stuff. No more spend, until they mend. :)
Phew, that's lot's of stuff.

I'll try to answer as good as i can. I'm a Waldorf user, betatester, sound designer and "Waldorf fanboy" but not a programmer or official support. I'm also not paid by Waldorf except my soundbank which is sold at their Online Shop and free licenses (for betatests). Anyway i try to be something like an "inofficial" support here at KVR.

1.) Waldorf Edition:
If you got the old CD version you'll need a new serial number and a download for v1.2.9. For both you have to contact Waldorf support:
support@waldorfmusic.de

Customers of the download version (see Waldorf Online Shop) do receive the v1.2.9 and a serial nummber automatically.
It makes no sense to offer v1.2.9 as a free download because you need a new serial number to use it.

BTW i mentioned this around 10-15 (or more) times in several threads here at KVR...

2.) Largo Mac version:
Like mentioned myyself i could only speak about the Windows version which works perfectly on my system (v1.5.1). I know that there are a few bugs remaining in the MAc version which either are not really easy to reproduce or are difficult to solve. As Wolfram from Waldorf is mostly working on a MAc system i'm sure he will solve this sooner or later. BTW there are currently 2-3 people working on the software AFAIK.

About joining the beta team: Just send a request to support@waldorfmusic.de maybe including the specs of your system (e.g. OS, CPU, hosts/DAWs) and wait for a reply which could take between some hours and some days depending on the current situation.

3.) About the upgrade path from D-Coder. I already asked for it but i fu**ed up the request by a stupid typo. I asked for an upgrade from D-Pole (which i used some minutes before...) and Wolfram answered he will check that..
I wrote back that this was a typo but got no response about that. Currently Wolfram is hardly working on Lector so maybe he missed it. I'll try to ask again soon but i have a good feeling about an upgrade path.

4.) There is a Waldorf forum which works like a mailing list:
http://www.waldorf-forum.com/cgi-bin/ma ... user-forum

5.) As a Waldorf betatester i'm under NDA so i always have to be careful not to publish secret stuff so you'll not get audio demos or current screenshots soon. Same about current developments which are not included in the sources at the OP. I only speak here in detail about Lector because the video from the Musikmesse and the official announcement are out.

Best wishes,
Ingo

Cheers Ingo,

I appreciate your reply. I already contacted support about the Waldorf Edition update. I did read your posts, I was just trying to say this was not obvious as a user who potentialy does not visit such forums and only the Waldorf website so one would be none the wiser :) They even have the picture of the CD on the webpage! I have joined, and left that mailing list as it turned out to be of no use whatsoever. There were other users complaining of the same issues I have on my Mac(s) and no useful replies. As far as hard to replicate goes, the PPG V3 functions well in nearly all aspects so that should provide some clues for the team perhaps? I've applied to beta test, offered my services several times and have even been invited by Waldorf but still I receive nothing. Perhaps I have upset somebody :?: Exciting if there will be an option for existing D-Coder users. I used that vocoder thoroughly and loved every minute of it, but as mentioned earlier, the price will have to be right as I also use the Image-Line Vocodex (among others like Virus TI hardware, oh, and NI Razor for a great price) which all take some beating in my opinion. I just wish they would fix Largo on the Mac. I have pretty much given up on it now anyway which is why I have lost interest in Waldorf products, especially when you have the Likes of Access and especially Native Instruments churning out 64 Bit versions of their plugins that perform flawlessly for me. Flogging a dead horse, as my old man used to say.

Hi,
thank you for your long reply. I'm sorry that you got problems with Waldorf support and i hope it gets solved. I also hope that the problem with the Mac version of LArgo will be solved soon. Like already mentioned i could not help much with that as i don't have any Mac.

About the Waldorf forum: You're right that many post are not really useful and some people use this to do a rant againt Waldorf (which is funny inside a Waldorf forum...) without giving any helpful informations.
Anyway sometimes there is some really interesting informations like e.g. developments for new editors for the Blofeld or how to repair specific synths.
It's also nice for me to make a little advertisment for my Blofeld bank and other Waldorf banks which will follow.

I also like both Native Instruments (i use Komplete 6) and Access but since i loaded a Hypersaw multisample (done myself) into my Blofeld i don't really need my old Virus TI desktop anymore. Currently i try to sell it to a producer here in my hometown Hannover.
My favorite plugin at the moment is the PPG Wave 3.V which is really rock solid like you already mentioned.

like DiScO197 wrote in his last post here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4464364

I won't be spending another penny on Waldorf gear !
Waldorf kit is awesome-Their hardware is fab and their softsynths are brilliant.
Waldorf products are great value for money-Sure they won't please everyone.Who can? but I think they have a good product line and good support aswell.
I sold my Blofeld (no official fully working vsti after YEARS even though they said it would come when i bought it) and Largo sucks when it comes to GUI (sluggish) and things like automating LFO's doesnt work like it should (try it yourself.... lots of unwanted crackling, unusable!).

No, it isn't. It's eLicenser, either as hardware (USB dongle) or software version (soft eLicenser on the HD).

BTW this is mentioned in the OP and the specs at the Waldorf site:

Hi Gosh,

the Beta is still in progress but as it's for Windows and Mac plus both VST2 and VST3 it's not so easy. For the Windows version (VST2) i could say that i don't see big bugs remaining.
