I'm fairly new around here. Will Bazille .4 work with an iMac with Snow Leopard (10.6.7, 32 bit I think) and Cubase LE4? I know it's called BazilleMacAU64, but I haven't been able to get it to work in Cubase, hoping it might work.

As an AU (.component file) it will only work in hosts that support Audio Units (Logic, DP, Live Numerology, etc.). Urs posted instructions on how to convert it to a VST (.vst file) here:aaron aardvark wrote:I'm fairly new around here. Evidently there is an issue though, part of the UI doesn't show or something. I guess an official VST version will show up eventually.

Hello again Urs
Could you possibly ad a master tune in the next update ?
I say this because i often use the oscillators tuning in beat mode to get LFO type effects which puts the patch slightly out of tune.
Also i mentioned some of your synths in an interview with Knowledge Mag here

Thanks Ed! Nice read!
I think I can indeed add a master tune soon... it might just need a knob, it's probably there already...

Hmmm... I'd love to... but atm I don't think they'll really be that similar. I eman, ACE looks nothing like Bazille, apart from multiples and envelopes...jonahs wrote:Because all the Berlin Modular synths are going to be similar have you thought about making a custom MIDI controller?

For some reason i'm last to know there was an alpha to download! I just made a patch and i'd love to share it. I added DVS ping pong and flanger + VoS's FerricTDS (sat compressor) in energyXT to fill up the spectrum a little.
There's wires going all over the place so im not 100% sure how i did it..
http://www.sendspace.com/file/erbjzx The lower keys has a nice squirly frzz going up and down while the mid has some waves floating back .. i'd stay away from the higher registres :p
Maybe a compressor would be good to have in the effects section? It can have a cool effect on the tail
Urs: You're a bloddy genious when it comes to programming synths!
I've made a drumset in ace and i think it sounds great, much better than any samplecd's i have(!) How about making a drummachine?
Late at night, brain going overloadmode, sorry for rambling!

yeah urs how about that drummachineCrackbaby wrote:I've made a drumset in ace and i think it sounds great, much better than any samplecd's i have(!) How about making a drummachine?
also can you elaborate a bit on the choice of filter types? 4 different LPs seem a bit much? i'd kill for a 24db lp filter and maybe a notch. i assume you can make a notch with the multimode filter? i gave it a shot using the spread parameter but didnt really get desired/controllable results.

Bazille's MMFs both have 24dB Low Pass outputs...ctrls wrote:i'd kill for a 24db lp filter and maybe a notch. i assume you can make a notch with the multimode filter? i gave it a shot using the spread parameter but didnt really get desired/controllable results.
Sending a LPF output and an HPF output from the same filter, to a mixer should result in a notch. Correct?
By mixing multiple filter outputs together you can get a lot more different filter responses than what are available as discrete outputs. Try sending noise simultaneously to a filter and a mixer. Then route LP12 of that filter to an inverter and the output of the inverter to the same mixer the unfiltered noise is going to. When you sweep the cutoff it should now sound similar to an HPF. Try adding other filter slopes to the mix and some resonance. Lots of new filter types are possible this way.

sorry i meant to write 24db HPjustin3am wrote:

thanks for the in depth response, i know i can mix different filter types together and chain filters to increase the slope, also had a lot of fun crossfading between diff types, but i had never considered inverting a filtered signal. even so, personally i'd gladly sacrifice one of the lowpass slopes for 24db hp but was just wondering if there was some sort of crucial application for all those slopes.
as for the spread and offset controls i somehow missed that they are for linking both filters, got it now. will try and post less stupid questions next time

[quote="Urs"]Dec 17th: Bazille goes alpha 0.4!
NOTE (Win users): Back up your own presets before you drag Bazille.data into Vstplugins... otherwise you might just overwrite yours
I asked Eric from Analog To Digital if he would mind if I called it somthing along the lines of "Lush Modular" or L.u.s.h. as they have had a synth called "Lush" for quite a while. He doesn't mind
So as of current planing the three main synths in Berlin Modular will be
- Bazille (modular FM/PD synth)
- ACE XL (see ACE, but twice as many things)
- L.u.s.h. (lush u-he synth, supersaws, pads + formant filters)
Later,
Urs

Dear mister Heckman, I have download your vsti version for windows, yes, it's in alpha and yes it's work in progress but I have some requests and a tip, I am running Windows XP Profession and have an HP Compaq DC7700 Minitower PC and can run this synth but the DXPiano3 preset is the only preset that becomes CPU hungry, I'm running at 2.13 GHz with a screen size of 1050x600 and it's fine but may I ask that this synth be resizeable because when loading in FL Studio it takes up my whole screen and it doesn;t show the whole synth I have to move the VST to see what I am doing, other than that may I ask that this synth be like arturia's moog modular in that when you take a connection it shows possible inputs to route outputs into and if there could be for the final release Skin changeable GUI where you can make a new skin for this synth..I would like to see a new version of this with the DX7 Piano Patch with less CPU hungry usage....I think you did a wonderful job with this synth with the sound and everything but may I submit you my presets in a Private Message, because I downloaded this last night and made a FMOrgan preset and a PhaseDistortion Bass preset for a start but will spend the next few days making presets for you to post to your U-HE.com website as an expansion, this synth was hard to find for me, until I reached this forum, do you mind if I post the link to this thread and to the downloads on your website, I posted them on my blog but if you don't feel comfortable with me posting the links I can remove the download links and keep the link to this thread....thanks
