Now it's March 2004 and i decided to release it as freeware on obertone.com .
If you want a 'pro version' with GUI write do Mike. Maybe if enough people ask for it he's motivated enough to do it.

I really love it, how you now and then seem to sort out internal issues in the public!  Sounds like you didn't even tell him that you'd release it as freeware now. Is that so? :-o

Anyway, I hope Mike just reads this thread and the one on the reFX forum, and more than for a GUI I for one raise my voice for a Mac version (of the 'pro version') first.

One can't have enough variety in filters, and if this thing really is anything like a Sherman Filtebank, it will be a top seller!

I was just thinking about filters, and how I wanted a new one. Thanx reFX. :D

I like Trasher! In fact, I used it the other day (for the first time) and liked it so much that I went and searched for the web page to see if I could donate some money. I guess I was thinking that it was a freebie or shareware. To my surprise I had already bought it as part of a bundle.

Sorry to hear that sales are not going well on the effects front. This is a thoroughly fun little plug.

We've spoken to other developers as well and sales on the effect front are at an alltime low. They simply don't do well. Trasher has never done well. We sell about one Trasher each month. It wasn't much different right after release.

Trasher is not just a bitcrusher. It can also reduce the samplerate and (drumroll) filter (LP, HP, BP, BS 12 and 24dB). Heck, it even got a distortion unit. So you get THREE effects in one small, fast, easy to use package with one syncable LFO for EACH parameter and still people don't buy it.

So from our point of view it makes much more sense to do a new VSTi, because it pays the bills whereas a new FX will just give us more work (GUI, GUI-code, support etc.) but will not even return enough money to pay the GFX guy.

Cheers,
Mike

Really?

Maybe I'll take another look at it. I just saw 'bitcrusher', yawned, and moved right on.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

This is a really fine Filter, thanks.

Love to see a GUI for it ... and some midi control codes.

I'd definitely buy it.

Surely you can find someone who will do it for free... look at all the winamp skinners that do it just for the thrill.

Actually.. there are quite a few synth/effect skinners on this website.. most of which would probably do the work for free, or at most some software.

Marketing is what you need!!! Of course I suppose this runs into the money problem too.. :(

hope financials improve for refx! :)
