I think it would do just fine for electronic music. Plenty of electronic albums are and were mixed on consoles, which is what Satson is emulating.vaisnava wrote:Do you think this would sound nice for electronic music? I notice most of you talking about drum buss, guitar buss, etc. Is this is more of an acoustic thing?
I am tempted to buy it for sure... I like SonEQ
Sonimus Satson (Console emulation) ready to buy now :)

Well I imagine that this "stereo summing" thing emulates a more organic sound. I really do not know, but I imagine it is more like the sweet spot in between the speakers where both channels converge.
It just seems weird on some level to emulate a physical/environmental thing before it happens naturally.
Has anyone tested this on a good and balanced studio system? I only have headphones, so I cannot really trust them.

he knows there are bugs and he's exterminating them as we speak...
(he didn't want us AU guys to be jealous and miss out on the fun...

Thanks for the wikipedia link, but I know perfectly well what a beta is (being a beta tester for a few other plugs myself).
It's just that it simply doesn't work *at all* with Logic 9 here, and therefore I wanted to know whether this is a 'known' behavior which is to be expected with the current beta. (Furthermore, it might be helpful for others - that are interested in the AU version - to know that there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. From this thread, one could get the impression that it is rock solid, which is not my experience here.... Maybe just my idiosyncratic fault, I know...)

the very first post states AU is in Beta...that tells me it's rock solid for sure...tq wrote: From this thread, one could get the impression that it is rock solid, which is not my experience here.... Maybe just my idiosyncratic fault, I know...)

There's a difference between a beta, which is supposed to have some bugs, but should be at least testable, and something that doesn't even load up in a major DAW on a given platform. (Yeah, I know that some released plug ins aren't even in a beta stage in that respect...bezusheist wrote: the very first post states AU is in Beta...that tells me it's rock solid for sure...

I know, I should have waited for the demo instead of impulse buying and hoping that the beta would be at least somehow usable on my system, so you are entitled to rub it in, as it is my own fault. But anyway, let's stop this p...ing contest, o.k.?
Again, I just wanted to know from other users whether they share my experience. No need for flaming and trolling here. I am pretty hopeful the developer will fix this soon.

Wow, that's a lot of crosstalk.. what kind of crappy console was used for the emulation..Mercado_Negro wrote:The crosstalk is about -30dB around 1kHz (tested with a sine tone).
I'm looking forward to test the demo as soundclips on GS are very promising, but I hope they change the crosstalk to user adjustable.

The AU beta works fine in Logic 8 on my systems (10.5.8 and 10.6.7).

Logic 9.1.3 here, Satson validates and runs with no problems at all. Excellent plugin at an amazing price.tq wrote:Is anybody experiencing problems with the AU beta? The Buss plug in does not pass AU validation here (Logic 9), and the channel crashes Logic consistently.
Its hilarious how this just gets released and pretty much works for nearly all users. mMeanwhile VCC is a train wreck MONTHS after the beta and official release. Seems like this could be a case of he who shouts loudest trips over their dick........karma got to love it. Lesson learnt Mr Lintz (sorry Slate)

Don't you think VCC is a bit more complex plug-in with channel linking, multiple consoles etc? It's no excuse for having bugs but still.. It hasn't been train wreck for me, works perfectly on my system since the official rel. Some people experienced bugs that's true but at least Slate team is responsive in fixing them..rhythmmaster wrote: Its hilarious how this just gets released and pretty much works for nearly all users. mMeanwhile VCC is a train wreck MONTHS after the beta and official release. So... Not to derail the conversation foolish since I'm not buying VCC, but what's does the channel linking do, exactly?
