Hi! Is possible to use in Shreddage X Multi downpicks only? Thanky you...

Post

Yeah it would be nice to have the full catalog of patches that the original shreddage has for X. I would be willing to pay a few coins for these extras as well:)

I tried to modify the preset to make it all downstrokes, but there's some setting I can't seem to find. I deleted the upstroke groups and set the round robin order for the downstrokes to 1, 2, 3, 4, but for some reason they still think they're part of an 8-group sequence, so you get 4 notes that play, then 4 notes that are silent. I could make a preset for only downstrokes if I could just find that setting.

I think it is a little more complicated, because of KONTAKT scripting. One more remark: if you use old nki for downstrokes only - low Ab samples are missing.

I don't think it's a matter of scripting, but you need to check EVERY group that has RRs (and there are a lot of them) in order to remove all the upstrokes. Once NO upstroke groups remain you then have to set the downstroke groups to RRs 1-4 as opposed to 1, 3, 5, 7, and ensure no groups with RR >= 5 remain. The only reason we didn't make a patch preconfigured like this is that we didn't really hear of anybody using the downstrokes-only patches in the original Shreddage, and figured it wouldn't be a good use of time to create new ones.

Many of heavy metal riffs using downpicks only mixed with down-up picking, I'm guitar player too. Original Shreddage had has this function I like.

Actually, I think a good solution would be to add some keyswitches to the main patch, where holding one restricts it to downstrokes, and the other restricts it to upstrokes.

Of course this sounds easy enough, but so did deleting all the upstroke groups and reassigning the round robin order, and that didn't seem to work...

That's not a bad idea. Let me look into it and see how hard it would be. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah I tried editing to make my own as well.

I am pretty certain is has to do with the new legato portamento script.

Bypass that script and play, it should sound fine. But then you get none of those script's features:(

Anyway, a little bit off topic, could someone to explain how legato and portamento mode works with midi/overlapping etc./?

I too would like to have downpicks for Shreddage X.
It would make the library even more perfect for metal riffs.

I approve of this thread. :D

Come on mates, let's vote for downpicks...even if integrated in multi controlled by keyswitch or any solution.
Thanks!
