saving presets/banks

hi there. i need to save a patch i made so i select the save preset option but it wanted to save it in the untitled project folder for ableton so i changed it to user/library /prefs/lennar/sylenth however to load again i go to the load tab in the LCD section and load the patch i made and it plays fine but says INIT and not the name i gave it which is fine but would be better if it said the name?

also im confused about banks. i want to set up a bank of my own sounds but i tried this by selecting save bank in the LCD naming it MY BANK and pressing OK but when i load that bank (which is at present empty) the first bank of factory presets loads and not MY BANK. So i thought maybe i cant load an empty bank so i tried to save a preset but dont see an option to save to MY BANK and also notice the preset i saved is saved in the same folder as MY BANK but not in MY BANK if you know what i mean so basically ill list the questions i have to simplify what is becoming a long post

1)when i save a patch can i load it and see the patch name in the LCD?

2)am i setting up a bank correctly?

3)how do i save a new patch to my bank?

4)how do i load my bank and see all the sounds i made in the bank?

5)can this be set up so i can find all of the above in the LCD without going via the semi finder window so its as smooth and fast as scrolling the factory presets and banks?

To rename the patch there is a small circle to the left of the preset name next to the bank numbers. Click the circle to edit the name of the preset.

thanks GeoSuPhat thats answered question 1 for me! i just seem to have a bit of trouble getting my head around the user patch saving/loading structure in sylenth as with my 1st learnt synth (massive) i just save as and the patch is then in my user patches bank job done but sylenth seems a bit wired in comparison.

so when i load up my saved patch an change the name as you said does it then stay there forever and what happens to the factory patch that was there or is another slot created? sorry if im way of with this one

i want to enentually have my own bank of sounds that is on bank 4 so all sounds are scrolled and found in the LCD.

so i throw that out to you all:)

A sylenth bank is 512 presets, 4 sub-banks of 128 presets. You can load/save individual presets (.fxp) as well as complete banks (.fxb).

You can create your own blank bank, (name it, save it) then load it in when you want to create your own patches. But remember to save the bank when your done editing or the changes will be gone next time you load it.

The first Factory bank always loads by default.

Alternatively, you could save your bank as Factorybank1. Then it would load by default. (Don't forget to backup the original Factory bank.)
