Hi all,

I'm trying to work out if it's possible to wire the filters in series (ie Osc 1 & 2 -> Filter A -> Filter B).

The flow diagram in the manual looks like the filters can only be wired in parallel.

Is this true?? I'm absolutely amazed if so.

Basically I want Osc 1 & 2 to be sent to a LP filter for the timbre, then this sent to a BP filter for some movement....

This must be possible yeah???

I don't believe you can do that, I checked the manual to readup on it.

But maybe there is some trick way to get it to work (sort of like the PWM idea) , but I am not sure. :?

The filters can not be wired in series, only in parallel (with different routing options for the oscillators). The reason for this is that parallel filters are much more useful than serial filtering. If you put an osc through a lowpass filter and afterwards through a bandpass filter, this will hardly sound any different than putting the osc through only the bandpass filter, because it'll cut off the high frequencies anyway. You could also use the EQ (and/or a static Phaser) to alter the timbre after the bandpass filter to create the effect you're after. Then you could still add a second parallel bandpass filter to create an even more interesting effect.

Lennard, It's not true and you know it.

For example if you want to cut your signal by LP and HP filter both with resonating controlable peaks. It's usefull doing some interesting pads or FX and impossible with Sylenth 1 without external processing. Great synth though, love sound of it, but sonically bit limited by today's strandards, lets face it.
