Ah, sorry: Mr Negro said "he never said he won't do a demo", which I think is true?

Come on now.. posts like these hardly help. If you are not willing to contribute with sensible or informative posts then you can hardly consider yourself having the right to complain, can you?
I've been here since 2003 I think, I'll have to check my stats (edit: 2004). Nothing has changed. It's always been this way. I think if anything, it's mellowed down a bit. There used to be huge flame fests in the old days. I've always liked that in KVR you get a really helpful community with a bit of fire and spice thrown in here and there.

Point 1: People have different purchasing philosophies.
Point 2: Developers have different priorities.

So I don't think there is a conspiracy going on here.

A demo would sure be nice, but I am in no rush either. :)

Please please please ("no copy and paste") stop this discussion now... :(

I do not want a new "blocked and closed" thread again. :?

The plugin is too great...

Agreed - we will see what the future will bring. But I don't keep my hopes up.

So I just took an empty project, inserted a chanel, inserted Satson Channel as the sole plugin, then duplicated the channel (then duplicated the two, then the 4, until I got to 512).
So you didn't try it with audio files loaded on each channel.

Even though this test might be arguable to some, could you maybe load one audio file (pink/brown noise at -18dB RMS would be suitabe), then do the test all over? Then "start" each plugin individually until you start to hear dropouts.

This way we could get a somewhat maximum usage limit on an 6-core i7 - even if it will be beyond reality in terms of usage. Just out of curiosity and completeness sake.

Would test it on my stock 2,7GHz clocked i7 920, but... you know the drama.

On an i7 2600k(running at ~4,5ghz) I start getting dropouts at ~230 tracks with 2 satson channels each. Every track loaded with a percussion loop and playback started.
Though I guess this "limitation" is more due to Reaper's overhead with that high amount of tracks(and wav samples). FX CPU usage while playback is ~40%.

With the wav file only on one track and sends to all others the "limit" is around 400 tracks.(FX CPU Usage ~70%)

I know it's not tested on an i7 920 but still a reference point that demonstrates how efficient satson is :)

Cheers,
Doc

So we have a stock clocked 3,33MHz i7 6-core and a (possibly overclocked) i7 Sandy Bridge 2600k with 4,5Ghz. On top of that, insane benchmarks.

Now if someone with a "slower" rig could provide comparable results...
And... shoudln't the channel plugin eat "more" cpu power than the summing plugin?

Then again, it's still ridiculous on the long run. Nobody will ever reach/crack that ammound of audio channels in the near future. But it's good to see that this thing at least offers some sort of CPU headroom.

I bought this last night. All I've done so far is wack it on all the tracks on the project I'm working on atm while I write it, and I have to have more in depth play and listen with it, but first quick results seem pretty good, I think I'm going to be pretty happy with it. I'm on an Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro, and it seems pretty CPU efficient, enough that I can use it on everything without worrying about it.

Hi... I am in Berlin producing some stuff. How would it be if you came over and I gave you the €28 to buy it. No strings no weirdness. Just so that you can test it yourself and give us your opinion after having actually tried it.

This is a genuine offer meant in a positive spirit... so no flames please.. Thanks

That is incredibly generous.

OK, you retards, I just did something insane and contacted the developer. He said there will be a demo, he's just busy. Conjecture: over!

Hm... Poptards...

Oh, wait a sec, you meant the other 'tard(is). Sorry.

Interesting that you reached him - my mail folder is empty (spam folder as well).

Anyway, back to calibrating my rig.
