This is a genuine offer meant in a positive spirit... so no flames please.. Thanks
Nice. Was thinking about offering the same thing myself a few posts back, when Compyfox asked for donations. He didn't seem serious about it though.

Also, i thought it would maybe come across as a bit insulting towards him, and to actual charities that can use that money better. :D

Nevertheless, good karma!

Satson seems to behave sort of like a IDSS circuit. Not sure yet whether it suits all material.

I made a mix with and one without Sonimus Satson and my friend instantly picked the version with Sonimus as the better mix.

Nuff said.

Hey folks:

I've done my first satson remix and it's posted here:
http://lightsfadelow.com/track/cold

The old track is here:
http://lightsfadelow.com/track/cold-old-mix

You can download both tracks in whatever format you want, including lossless if you wanted to test the high end formats.

This is not a direct A/B comparison, because I didn't just put Satson on in a neutral position. While I liked my old mix, I felt like there was some muddiness in the mid-low end and that the track lacked a little definition. In general, I feel like digital recordings can have some high end harshness too.

So I used satson's highpass filters in several places to cut out some low-end mud (most audibly on the e bass). I put satson channel on many tracks and satson buss on all of the busses as well as the master (in all cases in the first slot).

Finally I got some feedback that the chorus didn't feel big enough so I automated my master limiter to turn up the input gain from 5dB to 8dB just for the choruses, resulting in an overall bigger sound in the chorus.

Listen to both, LMK what you hear!

Only weeks ago we had only one console emulation. Soon we will have three. (Note sknote forum.) our cups runneth over.

Post

Actually, more:
Slate VCC, SATURN (Terry West, initial release), Nebula (e.g. AlexB), Sonimus Satson, SoundToys JUICE (in development), Sknote StripBus (in development)

So I count 6, not counting the "channel strip" suites that came before the "console wars" plugins (UAD, URS, Waves, McDSP, MAGIX, dlM, TeamDNR, just to name a few).

Competition is good for businesses - I hope this applies here as well.

Hadn't heard of Saturn or Juice. Will have to look them up.

The filters on this are really nice.

Post

Doh! Saturn = synthedit. That's a disqualifier for me (although not for everyone). Only run native x64 plugs.

Post

Terry West neither confirmed nor deny that his stab on a "console suite" is a SE creation.

OT: Iirc Terry West did Relife right? Which isn't synthedit. Why would he make Saturn synthedit then?

Still loving Satson. It's in every project now.

Post

Oh. I stopped reading the thread after someone said all his plugs were synthedit. There is no x64, though. Right?
