Is there not an other way to enter the license with Windows 7 ? I tried all methods described here in the forum. All of the created a shutdown of my Cubase 6 Artist version. The last beta release only shows the Zebralette - when I copy in the last dll files I get the shutdown. The version which is on the u-he.com website worked but I conld not enter the license. :(

Don't use the beta version at this point (you can always try that later), but the one from the u-he website. What happens when you copy/paste the license info?

Did you start Cubase with administrative priviledges?

I am using the 64 Bit version and It just a normal install. But maybe the Artist version does not allow external VST plugins. But anyhow - it in not possible to enter the lisence when you click on the field " demo mode " nothing happens.

When the shutdown of Cubase is caused after altering the VST path to the u-he folder it says something like " can not write a xxxx.txt file to .... " ( forgot the exact name of the file which is meant. And then Cubase get shutdown.

A shot in the dark which 'may' help. Have you tried running Cubase ni Admin Mode.

I dont know how to do that :D

OK now I installed it again with the website version. Then I took the beta .dll files and replaced them. When I start cubase again I get this message :

file could not be created to ...path .....Zebra2.midimap.txt

Your best bet is to store your plugins somewhere other than the Program Files directory. With Windows 7, Microsoft really locked down what can be done in there.

Urs has a post discussing it here:

I tried that one - still did not work. Maybe I try once again later - this issue is pretty complicated B) - I am new with Windows 7 - had my main system still on XP - was a good intuition to keep it slow till all works.

To run Cubase in admin mode you'll have to right click the Cubase icon and in the menu select "Run as Administartor" (or something, I don't have english version of Windows) This very well may solve the "can't write txt" issue.

Also note that if your Windows version is 64-bit, it doesn't have to mean that your Cubase version is 64-bit, it could be the 32-bit version as well, on which 64-bit plugins do not work natively (only "bridged")

Sounds like a Win 7 file permission problem:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=306890

Don't run Cubase in admin mode, just fix the installation and you're all set!

Also, use the 64-bit version from the other thread in Cubase 64 (less buggy than using a bridge). Delete any 32-bit version of Zebra2 (Cubase 64 for some strange reason prefers 32 over 64 bit when both are present). Maybe delete teh Cubase plugin blacklist file if nothing shows up.

If all fails, send me an email and I'll hook you up with our new diagnostic tool.

Cheers,

;) Urs

Now I could fix the problem with the registration code.

----
Install Zebra with the latest installer which I found here in the forum
Replace the zebra.dll file with the zebra(w64).dll file but first rename it.
Then run the host application in Admin mode
Now enter the registration code
