One small suggestion.

It would be really nice to have one more comb filter in Zebrify. With 3 comb filters it would be possible to create "Chord Resonator" effects (Like Ableton Lives resonator for example):)

Just a small thing I noticed while working with Zebrify, nothing to important.

Cheers
Dennis

Hmmm... what about MFM...? 4 comb filters :)

This is the second time you suggest me to try MFM (I think the time I requested a combfilter Uhbik :hihi:)

I should really try MFM :)

Btw: I just installed the Cubase 6 update. I'm ready for Zebra with note expression now 8)

Cheers

Yeah Dennis, you will like MFM2. There is some overlap with Zebrify but feedback is much more flexible. There is lots of crazy stuff it can do.

Urs any chance MFM2.5 could have a polyphonic mode?

Difficult topic... thinking about it though... it woudl be merely like a duophonic mode, where all delays play a single note if only one key is pressed, but they would spread if more keys join in.

That's kinda what I was thinking as well. I understand the difficulty. Don't let my zany suggestions distract you from your higher priorities. :)

We'll see... I might one sleepess night program myself into it.

There has however always been an idea for a Filterscape effect that's played like an instrument. Which would be an ideal candidate for a polyphonic comb filter.

One of these days I should really scribble up a strategy... what's what and why... difficult enough for the synths... but for the effects... nearly impossible...

That would definitely encourage me to finally buy Filterscape. I sometimes use Reaktor as a polyphonic effect, like you describe (almost like a separate version of the effect for each note triggered). CPU usage gets a bit nuts but it handles all the voice allocation and logic behind the scenes.

I kinda hope that as plug-in technology progresses, instruments can eventually communicate with effects on a per-voice basis. Stuff like waveshapers, filters and ring modulators could be much more flexible if they were able to process the voices of a chord individually.

One of the reasons that led to make Zebrify as it is was making it an insert effect *per voice* of a rather large custom built sampling system in the server room of a certain film composer in the LA coastal area. They've been anxiously awaiting the final 64-bit version... (which has pretty much reached the state of a release candidate)

+1 on the low pass gate idea.

Urs, you can't be too far away from the Schneiders Buero showroom in Berlin. My advice would be to pop in there and get your hands dirty with a module or two.

Alternatively, just buy a Malekko Borg 1 for your Euro setup. Compared with your recent vintage synth spending spree it would be small change anyway... :P
When all else fails, read the instruction manual.

the makenoise optomix that's coming out soon should be even cheaper than a borg 1, and more of a dedicated LPG and less of a filter.

This is coming from someone who doesn't have quite hands on experience with them, having a borg 2 rather than 1 (less ring, more nasty resonance), and a QMMG.

I'm crushed! I thought you made Zebrify specifically for me!
Don't tell me you didn't make Bazille for me, either?! I don't think I could take it.

You were right all along! I implanted Howie at their place to create major confusion first, and then I made it so that they thought Zebrify was their idea, when in fact it was yours!

Whew! Thanks for that. I feel much better. :hihi:

you can have Zebrify but Bazille is mine!!!

the fact that i still cant use it properly has nothing to do with the fact that it WAS my idea!

:hihi:

word is that Howard is just a prototype of the new U-he support bot
