Sorry, I tried the Video VST but it doesn't work well. I have a very bad noise when loading and when I try to load a video file it doesn't work.

It was an unfinished project ... shame because there is need for something like this.

I sometime use VLC Player
it got an "Always On Top" feature that keep the video window [without menu bar] on top of the desktop.
then I just scale down the video window so its not bother the Mulab layout and give a small silent gap on Mulab Composer so I can manually synchronize the song with video.
not quite efficient, but its effective for me.

VLC is a nice tool. I searched for a way to sync VLC to MuLab (eg via MTC or SMPTE) but didn't find sych way, unfortunately. Other people asked the same question on the VLC forumm but no answer/solution there.

VLC is open source and does support remote control, so writing an add-on to allow start/pause/continue/stop should be possible... Not sure about seeking and synching. There are also likely to be messy issues with buffers doing it outside a VST, too.

Thanks for the info. I've not planned writing such add-on for VLC, but i'll keep an eye on more options how to sync VLC to MuLab, or any other video solution.

To avoid any confusion: Sure it would be a welcome addition. But please understand that the time invested in this cannot be spent to other important aspects, so it's a matter of choices and priorities. Currently with M4 the main focus is on the modular sound system. A big job! Good luck to you too starfluf!

I understand totally - lots of other priorities for m4. However a very welcome bonus to a future m4 update at some point?? ;0)
