Hi Mike. Really anticipating an AU version. Also want to say that the JMP1 is still the king of rackmountable preamps. Even after all these years. Mine has played thousands of gigs.Mike Scuffham wrote:Hi everbody,
This is my first post on KVR, and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone on this thread for your interest in S-Gear.
I want to let you know that we found a problem running under Reaper (all recent versions) which causes S-Gear to crash when using playback loops. The problem does not occur with Sonar, Cubase or Tracktion. There have been some commments about a crashing problem with Reaper, but thanks to a detailed problem report received yesterday, I was able to identify the problem easily.
There will be a fix in the next release, along with fixes for some other things as noted on the Known Problems section on our Download page. This release will also include MIDI program change/controller support. We will be testing this week and will keep you posted when it is ready to go.
Mike.

P.S. what colour leds should we put on the tuner?

Dean will only accept black on a black panel, most of us others will be a bit more flexible.Mike Scuffham wrote:P.S. what colour leds should we put on the tuner?
Welcome, Mike, and thanks for the good news !
Cheers,

Btw, would it be possible to have the tuner "always on", at least as an option ?
I never understood why most others force you to manually switch it on/off ...
That's why I'm using a 19" tuner atm, always on, of course.

I spent a bunch of time a/b testing S-Gear against Amplitube 3.5 and as far as I can hear the amps are every bit as good. Great job!
I did feel this though, that with IK's new Custom Gear Shop you can get a free version that does have extras like full MIDI control, a tuner, host synch, room ambience, mic placment, etc and when you put $75 (the cost of S-Gear) worth of models into it you end up with a more robust tool.
So, while I understand your philosophy of making a simple tool that focuses on great sound, I think your decision to add things like a tuner is a really good idea. It's also why adding a few things like reverb, room ambience and a few basic stomps in the future will make S-Gear a really attractive alternative to the big boys for someone who wants a comprehensive software guitar amp modeling tool.

It's been kinda hard playing around with this (the reaper crashes in particular) but the sound is growing on me.

And waiting for x64 is a toughie. I really REALLY don't want another bridged plug......I'll do more testing in sonar tomorrow to see. I hope at least the reaper fix comes really soon as my "test period" won't last forever!

I was told update coming any day now.....•S-Gear crashes under Reaper 3.7.x when using playback looping. No workaround - a fix will be included in the next release.

I don't see it specifically mentioned, but does this version fix the Digidesign driver issue reported in the last version? I was afraid to try the demo since I'm on Pro Tools.

YAY! lovely. Looping seems to work in reaper so far, but it clicks (see clicking thread)
With maschine (beating that dead dead horse) I can run at 32 bit so just jammin' away

Is it my imagination or does it add some latency when you've got the cab module active? I'm running Live 8.
