Just a suggestion - in the "Silver" style, the tick marks along the controls have always looked untidy to me. There are a lot of them and, as far as I can tell, they do not indicate particular values.

The GUI looks much better to me with them removed.

I agree it looks nicer.

Might be an idea to not completely remove them though but leave small marks at least in the center, maybe at 25% / 75% too and maybe at the ends so it looks better than with only marks in the middle. Or, instead of these ticks, the center could be just marked by a tiny triangle inside the parameter bar or so...

Anyway, center indicator I consider important for quick overview where you are, the vast amounts of ticks in between I could live without very well.

Best,

V

yes, the dots could be removed, it looks better without them...

Well, folks, I don't really agree, sorry. Please just use the "Silver (standard sliders)" style. It doesn't have the clickable box, but you can just hold Shift and click on the slider as usual.

It's great to be able to enter precise values for the controls, but that was not my concern.

There a lot of of innovation and smartness going on in these powerful plugins :) but I must admit that I do find them hard to look at. I'll try some more colour / style experiments.

With the Silver (standard sliders) style I get the big black control bars. And, as far as I can tell, their colour cannot be changed; the "General Control Background" colour affects the GUI background in this style (or in some of the others).

Yeah, Vojtech, I think you're not talking about the same thing as we are. This is simply about a small graphical detail, just compare the two screenshots DarkStar posted, one shows dots, the other one doesn't ;-)

I agree. Amazing features and sound on the Melda PlugIns, the weak point is actually the visual design which looks a bit "cheap" and "low-budget". It really doesn't do the quality of the PlugIns justice. I personally love them anyway but there are enough people who "hear with their eyes" and might be hold off by the PlugIns visual appearance so I could imagine that a shiny "pro" GUI design could actually even raise the products market value.

@Kabelton: Hi Gerald :-D

They've always just looked too busy with all the little markers around every parameter. I wouldn't say they look cheap, just, not finished.

I'll be honest, and I'm saying this purely as constructive feedback Vojtech: I stopped using all Melda plugs years ago (that was long before I joined KVR), because the GUIs are just so hard to work with over a long session. I even tried them again after the GUI updates. No dice. Yes, they are quite busy because of the amount of features (big plus point of course), but all those features are useless if the overall plug-in is just too hard to work with.

Take for instance the recent 3 IR reverb released (well not that recent anymore but whatever ok?). I tested it, and it sounded great, but I just couldn't pay $15 (..or was it $20 at release, can't recall... regardless, it was silly cheap),cause I knew I'd have it, and never use it, because the GUIs are just too all over the place. I really wanted to like it, but the GUI just really put me off.

The colours don't help either actually... but that's a slightly different story of course. This feedback is mainly about general layout and GUI markings.

I've never said anything about this cause I thought I was the only one who thought this. Obviously this isn't the case. Vojtech, I hope you take this in the light it was intended: Supportive, not attacking or anything like.

Cheers,
George

PS: While I'm at it, I may as well got further... what are most of the parameter lines so damn long? I think the GUIs would already be better if more of the para adjustments were done like MEqualizer instead of like MFlanger where the params cover the plugin from side to side.... Just my opinion of course, but hey, that's what forums are for , right :D

EDIT: Ahh, ye duh, it was MMultibandReverb I was talking about further up :P

Hehe don't worry, no offence taken. There is no improvement without criticism ;).

Anyway about the layout - it's exactly this reason for the recently released dual interfaces ;). But the "edit" GUI will stay like this. Personally I like it and I know many people who do that as well. The GUI stuff is just matter of preference and what you are used to. Personally I hate plugins containing hundreds of knobs. In our plugins however everything have the same layout, so you don't need to "get used to it" with every new plugin.

With the dots - well, I can remove them of course, but I like them :D. Without them it kinda looks amateuristic to me :D. You see? Every person different opinion... Interesting the world is :).

Hey mate, no worries ;) They are of course your babies, and you need to happy with them, first and foremost. On another note, haven't been to your site in ages, and just popped in because of some EQ discussion in another thread. GREAT remake with the blue background and stuff. Really nice (yes, I didn't like the old site much, the colours were a bit meh :P).
