I generally have preferred the visual EQ. But perhaps it's the fact that the knob forces me to use my ears is a bonus on top of the nice smooth sound.

Agreed. (But sometimes I enter an exact number by right-clicking too...aircargo wrote:I generally have preferred the visual EQ. But perhaps it's the fact that the knob forces me to use my ears is a bonus on top of the nice smooth sound.

So working with Satson a bit more aggressively today; gotta say, really loving it. The gorgeous filters combined with the cool saturation/modeling makes for some very lively mixes indeed! Amazing plug-in, I hope he sells a billion.

Excellent! What's your experience been like? Do you notice a difference? Is it all in your mind? I'm very curious what people are making of these "mojo" plug-ins...Jed wrote:I'm enjoying mine too!

No. This is Year Zero. All previous music is cold and digital.kmonkey wrote:Didn't people already created awesome music when these mojo plugins where not existed?kcisANDderit wrote: i'm making music with them

Hey folks... I just did a mix of my song Touch with Satson on every buss and the master. I even put Satson Channel on my master channel to take advantage of the high and lowpass filters.
If you want to compare, I'd highly recommend downloading both versions in high bitrate MP3 or one of the lossless formats supported.

Very nice song
After a quick review of the mp3 on site, I'm not sure if I prefer the Satson version in its whole though.
While it brings down some harshness in the intro and verses, and rounds up the low-end nicely while bringing the different elements somewhat more "together", I find the chorus to lack a bit of clarity when comparing it with your previous mix.
I've requested a link to the Satson ALAC version, is there a way that I can get an ALAC copy of the original mix to hear the differences more precisely ? That would be greatly appreciated, as I'm very interested in what Satson and its contenders can bring to the table (and your song offers a lot to listen to in many regards).

Yes, very nice indeed! Without passing judgement on the Satson treatment at this time, I really like the dynamics!@l3x!5 wrote:Very nice song

.. well damn you all! Couldn't resist the hype any more and decided to purchase Satson. As I can't run VCC on my laptop then perhaps this is an alternative?
Now I'm seriously out of GAS
Cheers!

@aircargo: I agree with this. Very nice song first of all! Nice production, melody and harmonies.@l3x!5 wrote:Very nice song

However, the chorus definitely "suffers" from satson in this case. Perhaps it is driven too hard? The original mix sounds more open, though perhaps a little harsh but that's nothing a little EQ/De-esser can't fix.
The Satson mix is too clogged up and compressed, at least in the chorus (works well in the verses).
Cheers!

Ha, this is funny: I was going to post an example, but I noticed that I had pushed Satson too hard and things were getting too distorted, so I wanted to go back and dial things down. I always get a little carried away with new analog emulations... Mind you, on some boring synths/mixes, a little dirt is sometimes welcome...bmanic wrote:@aircargo: I agree with this. That is a fantastic track, very well done. I agree with the general consensus.
