What will the new Zebra modules be?

Urs once said "...We've planned up to 5 more modules...". Any idea what they will be?

I know it will probably take a long time until the update with the new modules.
I guess one of the modules will be some kind of distortion?
Can't wait to use them :)

MMF, VCA (might become mode of existing ChannelMix), Resonator, Distortion. Forgot the 5th one, must be on one of those todo lists. Probably not so important.

In addition I've been thinking about other improvements a lot. Depends on how work on Berlin Modular pans out.

Awesome :)
Thanks for the quick answer :tu:

I guess the MMF will be inspired by the Cwejman MMF-1 (dual peak mode )? You own one if I remember correctly.

A resonator is a nice idea too :)

Urs, you forgot lag generators and 2 more Mmaps!! ;)

MMF is just MultiModeFilter, with the idea that 3 or so responses are available simultaneously. OTOH there was also the idea to add more filter modes to the normal VCFs and rebuild the popup menu into a nicer solution.

Ah yes... that's it - Modulation Modifyers (delay, quanitise, lag, reshape any source in a single module)

OK, i am seriously excited! :hyper:

128-step analog-style sequencer you say ??

I thought i'd bump this instead of starting a new thread.

Is there any news on a possible distortion module for Zebra? I'm soooooo close to finally folding and spending the cash, but I use distortion a LOT in my new found synthesis obsession so it's the only thing really keeping me on the fence.

+1 Something like the "new" distortion thingys from the Virus TI would be awesome
And another question: Will the resonator module be available in both "grids" or just in the bottom FX grid?

Hehe, sorry, I'm soooo busy with Diva now, I can't actually remember exactly what we've done already in Z

I do think we might have a distortion module, but it isn't finished. The new filter types however make up for that (MS-20 clone...)

The Resonator is in the bottom Grid only because it does not have modulations. It's merely a close copy of the Polymoog one, with a fourth band and the fourth mode.

Funny you should mention the Virus Ti as i've been investigating Zebra a lot lately and it really can cover everything my Virus did (which I sold!). I was thinking pretty much the same thing as you.

If there's a distortion module on the way I'm well and truly suckered in.

Just need to find a suitable Dinosaur crossgrade picture :hihi:

I can't wait to try the new modules. I hope DIVA will be finished soon :hihi:

There are ways to get a gritty Zebra today. It takes a little more work than a single module.

I recommend watching Andrew's tutorial on Zebra2 diry bass sounds:

The new Zebra 2.5 filters add considerable presence with the drive knobs and that can be further enhanced byputting a shaper after the filter in Wedge mode.

Nick Moritz also had a clever use of the strong compressor as a distortion unit:

All of that should (hopefully) hold you over until Urs finishes Diva and comes back to Zebra2. ;)
